    That's kind of a stupid point. You can be mad at the NFLPA for putting you in a bad situation while also being mad at your team for treating you like garbage. I already pointed that out that he should be mad at Pittsburgh in my previous post. Be mad at everyone. But not showing up to play is making his own teammates mad at him. What's the point of missing games? As I said earlier, the point is to avoid putting mileage on the tires while playing at a pay rate below his worth. His teammates should shut up.

Obviously it's a risk, that's the point of negotiations. Pittsburgh has maybe one year of decent Ben left and are willing to play it without their star RB. That is also a risk. Yet barely anybody acknowledges how stupid they are behaving.

    The NFL uses and abuses running backs. Teams figured out they can get 5-6 great years out of guys and throw them away. The only chance for RBs to make real money is to get their one longterm contract. Teams would rather take advantage of the ridiculous rookie pay scale, used up their RBs and pay the great ones one year at a time, then be forced into signing them to longterm deals with 2-4 years worth of "guaranteed money", which is what just about what everybody else gets (QBs get much more). If he plays all year, Pit will give him 400 touches, abuse his body, and dare somebody else to sign him next year as a FA. If he holds out until late in the season, he'll forfeit game checks, but avoid all those touches and then take offers from around the league in the offseason.

    When I was a freshman I got called up to the sophomore team and hit a double. Then I got picked off 2nd with some [expletive] like this on the very next pitch. To clarify, I was only called up as part of a rotation of guys needed to fill the roster after a bunch of sophomores cut kicked off the team for drinking on the bus to a road game.

    I'm less and less pumped for the start of a new season every year, but my recollection is I wasn't particularly excited about the beginning of the Trestman era. I think the Trestman/Emery press conference weirded me out and all the CFL staffers he brought in had me highly skeptical. Although everything about that era just blends into a sludge of boredom.

    I assume the orange on the road is an attempt to offset Miami's white uniform at home so the opponent wears a dark color in the hot sun strategy.
