you're leaving out the only good part of the story, which is when after throwing the helmet down the field Long went to the sideline and vomitted multiple times. Long is a douche and I agree with goony that cutting ties after this year makes way more sense, but the visual of that entire scene is very funny to me. Apparently the Bears kept him home from the Giants game.

Just including the word doubtful doesn't make the statement make any more sense. Obviously his point is the roster is deficient not that Almora will get better. I get that. The roster is deficient. But Maddon's insistence on using Almora as much as he's done makes it even more inefficient. Saying you'd play Almora everyday is nonsensical. It's not a solution to anything. You can critique the roster all you want but that still doesn't justify Almora's playing time.

What? At some point you almost have to use them? That's not been the issue with Almora. He's been used early and often.

A situation where municipalities are pressured into subsidizing another round of brand new buildings is not a solution to anything. The Cubs just spent money to make Wrigley viable, there is no space to go bigger. They aren't getting another Yankee Stadium or Fenway or Citi or PNC, etc.

It'll be a makeup game by the time it comes around. There are only 11 games scheduled that day. Lots of teams are off, including the Brewers.

I'm going to assume you meant "KB light/lite" there, because otherwise...no. He was definitely got a raw deal, but he wasn't some savior by any means. Yeah that was suppose to be "KB Lite." He would've really benefited from the launch angle stuff, I think. Every time this type of thing is brought up I think back to our crappy high school coach who came out of some minor league system and insisted on drilling into all of our heads to swing down on the ball and pound it into the ground. Every batting drill was some sort of variation of just chopping dramatically down. Dude ruined my career* *didn't have a career

you can't make trades post deadline, but lucroy was acquired after DFA. Not a trade. You have to be on the roster by September 1 to be playoff eligible. Unless I missed something

I would go to my safe space but they don't show competitive sporting events there and then I won't be able to watch all the baseball games I need to watch to somehow find out that sometimes guys play better after being traded. Real catch 22 if you ask me
