  1. Somehow the Bears are 5.5 point home favorites vs the vagabonds from southern california. Chicago was lucky to beat a bad Broncos team and got embarrassed against the other AFC west team they played. The Chargers are 2-5 but have scored nearly as much as they've been scored upon, 140-141. The Chargers can score some points, and it won't take a ton of them to outscore the Bears. After week 2's lucky FG win everything still looked grim but they went on a 2-game streak of fairly impressive play. Things have hit the low for the season now, so it's the perfect opportunity to have a surprising win. If they aren't good enough to win this one, they might have one more win on the schedule this season.

  3. Lovie and Trestman are nowhere near similar. Lovie was an incredibly effective head coach. He couldn't hire an OC to save his life, but having the team prepared to go 100% was never a problem. Trestman completely lost his team in near record time. Lovie never lost the team, he was a solid head coach who could have been great if he could find an OC. I think it's a mistake to lay this all on Nagy. If this team had a competent QB they'd be over 4-2 and well on their way to a 2nd straight year of playoffs. Nagy ain't great, but he's got a lot to offer and seems competent. Head coaches can grow into the role. I think there's value in letting a young guy especially learn from mistakes.
  4. He's terrible but, Nagy may be worse, he's not putting him a position to succeed. As terrible as Mitch is, there a few things he does well, Nagy' got to leverage those things, give him a chance to succeed. The one thing he does well is maybe make something out of a broken play on occasion. You can’t scheme that. He had open receivers and missed them, again and again. He can’t think and he can’t hit open guys. He had made zero strides. Maybe that’s on Nagy a bit, but these are not out of nowhere concerns with Mitch. There’s a very good chance no coach could polish this turd. A little razzle dazzle got them to 10 wins, but that may be the high water mark.
  5. The thing about Hughes making the call is who follows playoff baseball on the radio?
  6. I’m wondering how many “you can’t judge him on this game alone” games Mitch will have before people realize he’s just a bad qb.

  10. Mitch is expected to practice in full
  11. When they started talking about scorpions my thought was 'oh they probably saw a couple in the house and maybe a poisonous one in the yard', then I keep reading and it's 'no here's an inspection report about the mature colony of super poisonous scorpions in the yard'. Arizona, not even once. scorpions are fun, but the columbo moment at the end is what sold the story
  12. That was very bad
  13. Win number one in the books. That was genuinely entertaining and they looked pretty good, dominating the 2nd.
  14. Mahomes should have been picked off twice in addition to one time he was - we're always reading this about Mitch. Mahomes and Watson both looked terrible at times, made dumb mistakes, Mahomes threw the ball up grabs on several occasions. I'd imagine most would still take either over Mitch and rightfully so, for the most part Mitch has been terrible. Keep hearing about a "good" Saints defense, don't see it, statistically, they're middle of the pack perhaps, it's the sacks, think it's the only statistic in which they're top 10. Do not think it unreasonable that the Bears should be able to move the ball and score some points. Shouldn't have to score too many. Other than a 31-point outburst against the terrible Tampa Bay defense, the Saints under Bridgewater have scored 9, 12, 20, and 13 offensive points in 4 of 5 games. Put up 33 against Seattle on the road, but got a defensive and special teams TD, and 1 of their 2 offensive TDs on a 28-yard drive. That being said, I'd really like to see 4-5 scoring drives in this game by the Bears offense. Whether that's 2 TDs, 3 FGs, or 3 TDs, 1 FG. I'll feel a lot better if the Bears can put up 22+ against a decent defensive team. Trubisky played pretty well out of the bye last year vs. Miami. But he played his worst game after coming back from the same injury last year. So which Mitch we get will determine the outcome of this game. Mitch sucked at the beginning of the Miami game. Bears were expected to blow them out but did nothing early and allowed the defense to get heat stroke.
  15. Can anyone else spot what’s wrong with this sentence? yes
  16. The Devils played a day game today. They got out to a 4-1 start, blew that lead to lose 6-4. They are 0-4-2 Very rough start for a team that started the season with a lot of (or maybe just some) high hopes.
  17. I'm guessing they just want an excuse to run up the expense account
  18. the bulls have a t-shirt under the jersey guy? what's he hiding?
  19. Things are really going great when I have to keep reminding people that trading Bryant is dumb.
  20. I don’t think there is even a mets fan alive that would think working for the guys who got swindled by Madoff to be the best job opening out there.
