  1. He's playing without it. He was quoted saying something about being Samoan with very large legs that allow his muscles to do the work. I think Chris Chelios has played without some knee ligaments for years.
  2. The only reason I remember him is from one of the first mlb video games I played that had the actual rosters. He and Ozzie Timmons are the guys I remember from that era. Man the Cubs sucked in the 90's.
  3. http://deadspin.com/5383328/god-bless-ronan-tynans-anti+semitism Ronan Tynan no longer singing god bless america during the stretch. Before you get fooled into thinking this might make watching a Yankees home playoff game more bearable: They are still going to use that completely unfair "freeze" out of the opposing pitcher.
  4. Yes, he's shown he can be a factor. But he's a tiny WR with limited abilities, and some people are overstating how good he's been. How does he have limited abilities? Fastest player on the team, shown good hands so far, has shown he's can make a play in the open field. He's not going to win jump balls or fight through double teams or ever be an elite receiver. He's a nice player, I really like him, I'm just saying some of the love went to the extreme really fast. As I edited, you could say the same thing about Hester and Bennett. The love is a bit much, though, I agree. After seeing the plays Braylon made for the Jets, that's what's missing from the Bears offense. A big WR that can get the ball in traffic. Yeah, I wasn't saying those other two were without flaws either. Knox is a nice player, though, just as those other guys are.

  6. You'd only take Ben over Garcia because of his age? That's kind of nuts.

  8. Um, because he's one full season removed from a career year, and wrist injuries heal? Yes, he'll be 35 next year, but he's better than Fontenot, and the middle infield FA market isn't that deep. He's not the cure-all, but he falls under the category of "better than what we have now, and affordable." He's a season removed from a career year, and you are using that as a good thing? He followed that career year with more of his typical career mediocrity. And the fact that injuries heal is meaningless, while the fact that he is 35 is not.
  9. I think the word is obliviousness, although I'm not sure if that's a word.
  10. http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Video-9-year-old-scores-greatest-goal-in-Boston;_ylt=Asx1oe8jyOLE1mSYCTULTIt7vLYF?urn=nhl,195876
  11. I'm hearing "estamos en el mundial", but what is he saying about "los estados unidos"?
  12. He's very quick to point out Bear weaknesses, but then when someone calls him on it he gets really defensive. I hate that the other guy (was that Zaidman) basically serves as his brown nose, agreeing with everything he says. It's a really bad segment/show. I like Zaidman when he does a little 10 min Bears report during one of the other Score shows...he's good in that role. But he's a terrible host. Hub's argument against Knox last night was "he's still a rookie from Abilene Christian." Come on. That's just plain old lazy. I don't know what he was saying, but the Knox love has gone a little overboard.
  13. It still bothers me that when they drafted him, they made a point to say he was not a leadoff hitter, but a middle of the order guy with some pop. And then they allowed the freaking coaching staff to try and turn him into a slappy leadoff hitter. Absolutely ridiculous.
  14. Since it is no longer 2008 that is not possible.
  15. Trading a guy isn't really giving up on a guy. If you wait until you are ready to give up on somebody to trade them, you won't get crap in return.
  16. directv has it through Oct 24, but games on versus are not shown on center ice.
  17. Oops. He forgot part of the hypothetical. As part of getting this GM job, you now look exactly like Jim Hendry. The kind of chicks that would double down on him would need $145 million.
  18. It wasn't very well written, but when taken in context I don't think there's any reason for a fan to be upset about it. He basically said we are upset about losses and don't need you to tell us to be more upset.
  19. Two pro bowl caliber running backs is always helpful.
  20. Where did you read it? I don't know what the jet sweep is, but teams put guys in motion all the time.
  21. One week further away from the disaster of week 1. That game really affected how many people viewed the Bears, and the further away it gets, the less influence it will have.
  22. What? You thought you couldn't snap the ball with a man in motion? Yes, you can, as long as it's parallel to the line and not moving forward. This doesnt say that: Legal Uses of Motion Any offensive player who is not on the line of scrimmage is allowed to change positions in this way, meaning that running backs, the quarterback and, in some cases, wide receivers and tight ends are allowed to move under the NFL Rules for "Man in Motion." They must arrive at their new destination and be set for one for second before the snap. Illegal Uses of Motion However, offensive linemen who are already set in their stance and receivers who are on the line of scrimmage may not go into motion under league rules. A team is penalized if an ineligible player moves, more than one player goes into motion at the same time, the player moves towards the line of scrimmage or if they are not in the set position long enough before the start of the play. Where did you get that from? You have to be set if there is a shift involving multiple players. But guys who are set off the line are allowed to go in motion and be in motion at the time of the snap (but only one guy can).
  23. I can't say I'd be opposed to parting with a mid-level draft pick for TO at this point. I wanted TO as a desperate attempt to help Orton, but I'm not so sure I'd want to be dealing away more draft picks for one year of TO. I'd have next to zero interest in bringing him back beyond this year. If they gave up a 4th in 2011 or something, I wouldn't be upset. But they are already low on picks next year and still need offensive line help plus fresh blood on defense.
  24. What? You thought you couldn't snap the ball with a man in motion? Yes, you can, as long as it's parallel to the line and not moving forward.
