  1. Prepare to keep your views unchanged.
  2. That this is a sympton of problems within the health care system and that echos should be a part of any sports physical.
  3. an enlarged heart should leave some kind of evidence on a simple ekg, and can be confirmed on an echo. echos are expensive, though, but imo, should be part of any sports physical. it's another part of the problem with our health care system. That's a stretch.
  4. Brady played Warner. Nobody thought Brady was anything special at the time, as he was a first time starter, but he had a nice season, the first of several ever improving seasons until he peaked as a superstar. And it compares favorably with anything Terry Bradshaw ever did. Also, Marino played Montana, and Aikman played Kelly a couple times.
  5. A good baseball scout can determine the size of a guy's heart after just a couple at bats.
  6. QFT, except get a better NT than Harrison. well, yeah, but i'm just talking about guys on our roster right now. a new NT would be nice if that happened. I've been thinking of ways to make the 3-4 work with this team for a while, but it would never happen. They have depth and quantity at LB, and no great lineman.
  7. i think you're mixing up your legacy announcing hires. I was kidding, after that that chip nonsense in the mlbplayoffs, oh nevermind
  8. what is chip carey talking about? how did the vikings accept a penalty against themselves, and how was he allowed to make the same stupid comment repeatedly without the rest of the booth fixing it. oh, there it is, good job chip
  9. non first round DE do no impress me. Getting a DE in the 3rd, or even with the mythological 2nd, isn't going to help much if you are looking for top end talent. They'd be better off hunting for another Anderson late and hoping to find a gem.
  10. suicide? That would be like fifth or sixth on my list of guesses. My first guess with a successful young athlete dying under mysterious circumstances would be drugs. well it's not a successful one, it's a guy that's been a disappointment in two different cities. I figure car accidents have to be number 1, with gun violence, suicide and drugs rounding out the top of the list for young people.
  11. It's usually the HC that chooses his assistant staff, and Lovie is still the HC. But the theory was the OC would have autonomy over the offense. Lovie doesn't know anything about offense. But they've kept a couple assistants and just hired a new one without OC input, which tells me the OC is going to have less autonomy than anticipated.
  12. just about to watch the hawks on nbc and jimmy roberts just blew my mind. what in the world happened? a young dude like that dying under mysterious circumstances smells like suicide, if they said something about working out or at a gym, I'd assume heart defect. Geez. I don't see how the Bears could get a comp pick out of this.
  13. You are assuming it's jealousy, I don't know why. Sammy was his teammate, it makes sense that he makes a comment about a person he knew and shenanigans he would have been able to know about, rather than taking shots at random guys in the league. Sammy is a disgraced former player who isn't involved in the game anymore, why would Grace be jealous of him? He made a ton of money, had a ton of adoring fans, is still in the game and beloved by many. I don't know, obviously. But the animosity goes back to their time as teammates. I thought it was pretty well known that Grace disliked him even then, and that the dislike was tied to the attention Sosa was getting. I'm making an assumption, but I feel pretty safe in it. But that doesn't prove jealousy. Even if that is exactly what was going on, why couldn't he have just disliked how popular Sammy was on the outside while being a cheating jerk on the inside? If he disliked a popular player who wasn't been hounded by roids scandals and wasn't a complete jerk to teammates, you'd have a case, but calling this a simply case of jealousy is a big stretch with what we know of Sammy and what we think we know of Sammy It's really easy to understand why a teammate wouldn't like him.
  14. I'd be willing to be that any performance enhancers he was taking were more along the lines of Viagra and if he was taking injections it was penicillin.
  15. Because Johnson is always healthy?

  17. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/01/bears-close-to-hiring-tice-to-coach-o-line.html I never knew of him as an OL coach, but rather a tight ends coach or head coach, so I don't know what his rep is there. But at least it's an actual NFL coach.
  18. Really? Because if Sammy hadn't been his teammate and he wasn't jealous of him, he wouldn't be doing it. It's not as if Grace is some sort of crusader in the steroids issue. He's picking on Sammy more simply because he was annoyed and jealous of the attention he got. If Sammy had been on another team, Grace probably wouldn't say anything about him at all. It's Grace being petty. First off, I don't even know what the big deal is, how often does he talk about Sammy? I can't remember the last time I heard him mention it. However, Sammy was a douche and a likely cheater, and if Grace pokes fun at him from time to time, how is that petty?
  19. this Yeah, other than his not so subtle jealousy of Sammy, he's pretty much awesome. God forbid clean players be jealous of steroid users who put up ridiculous numbers because they cheated. What an ass that Mark Grace is. And yet you don't hear teammates of known juicers making snide comments publicly on a regular basis like Grace does. It's petty, especially since the truth is so widely assumed anyway. I don't see how it is petty.
  20. I'm not sure about his teaching on fundamentals. He is a defensive coach who ignores tackling. I think he'd make a good college coach, but he's not a big motivator, which seems to be a big thing with college coaches.
  21. anyone else find it amusing that this is manbearcub's first post in about a month, and his last post was a joke in the chris henry thread? i think that has become his sole mission on this board, to post something dickish when someone dies. Dont forget homosexual comments . Hes always good for a few of those each time he posts too How could you tell that the comment was homosexual? Was it flamboyant, or did you see it having sex with other comments?
  22. That's pretty harsh of the Saints to bring him back for that. Gotta earn your money somehow in this recession.
  23. When he's on he's alright? He's not Martin Brodeur, but he's a good goalie. I really don't get all the constant concern about Huet. Because he's the weakest link on a championship caliber team, and a giant question mark as to how he's going to perform in the playoffs on a nightly basis. He goes into a funk and we're toast. But that's what I liked about last night's game. He didn't let the last game bother him and he bounced back. Maybe he's improving. He's a question mark only because people are obsessed with the notion of a goalie who has done it before, even though the Stanley Cup playoffs are always filled with surprise goalies who haven't done it before and proven goalies fall left and right. He's been good this year, calm the funk down.
  24. I only hate that it adds fuel to the "pampered Cutler" story.
  25. Really? Because last I heard everybody and their mother insists defense wins championships and the way to win in the playoffs is defense and a running game. Yet the 2nd ranked defense got destroyed last week, the 4th ranked defense got embarrassed by a week offensive team, which has the 1st ranked defense and you also pick to lose.
