  1. currently 15th in runs scored, 14th in OBP It's deja vu all over again.
  2. I voted for offense, is there anyway I can vote 5 or 6 more times for it?
  3. it's getting easier and easier to see why vegas had the win total so much lower than 95% of the people on this board, including me.
  4. we knew the opponents and what field they played months ago. I was planning a road trip to the Bears/Jets if it fell on any day but Christmas weekend. That sucks.
  5. There is good reason to believe that the best Colvin can hope to be is a useful part time OF. There's slim hope of him turning into a good everyday guy. If you hold onto that hope, I understand wanting him to play in Iowa everyday to keep developing. But his current usage is a perfectly acceptable amount, especially when you consider his most likely career outcome.
  6. Colvin is still projected to play in nearly every game and get 280+ plate appearances. He's got a line of .222/.333/.444. How much more do you want him to play, and why? 7th inning defensive replacement every game is not enough playing time, and he needs at least one start a series. Otherwise, we might as well stash him in Iowa and let him improve. At least one start per series is not a spot start. That's a regular platoon. Soriano has an OPS over 1000 the last 7 games. Byrd and Fukudome both deserve to start today. Tyler Colvin is still just Tyler Colvin. He doesn't need to be starting every third day.

  8. Koyie Hill is taking the teachers pet role from Theriot.
  9. I'm thinking bouncer or off duty cop for the Steelers.
  10. wonder what the hell he is referring to. lack of testicles
  11. especially with Z on the mound. You might suggest Theriot is entering lou's doghouse.
  12. He shouldn't, but he probably will. In the end it might be a Ramirez injury that brings Castro up. Then they'd start Baker at third and still have Theriot/Fontenot platoon at 2B.
  13. Jason Taylor agrees to deal with Jets.
  14. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/04/martz-wowed-by-cutler-better-than-i-thought.html Get a room you two. Martz is in love with Jay.
  15. It would be pretty silly if the suspicions about Sosa were linked to Baker. I was thinking the same thing. But I'd be happy to criticize him for it.
  16. The Broncos didn't get much of a haul for Scheffler though. Olsen is younger, and so maybe a worth a smidge more, but still. He's a free agent though, no? Olsen is signed for 2 years at what is a team friendly salary.
  17. There parents must have done it with the lights off.
  18. It could be just that, as I don't really know Martz's style. But it seems like this is the 15th version of that same quote from Martz, and that might just be him diplomatically saying Olsen isn't going to cut it. They spent so much money on the FA TE, which led to Brown's release. I just think all signs point to Olsen not being a part of the Martz plan. can't just release olsen, though. but i wouldn't put it past the bears to do it when so many other teams would throw a high round pick at us for him. Right, Brown was a high priced guy so a release made some sense. Olsen is more valuable given his contract and age. They could get something for him, and are almost certainly desperate for more draft picks.

  20. If the Hawks somehow play the Maple Leafs around that time, that could be a fantastic road trip.
  21. Olsen doesn't stand a chance.
  22. I was at last nights and have watched maybe 4-5 others. And what you are claiming to see is just due to seeing the results. Ramirez always swings like that.
  23. True. It would be one thing if it seemed like his timing was off, but he's basically just flailing at everything thrown his way. I would agree I am more concerned than anything but his approach is off which sometimes takes awhile for people to change. Like I said earlier he is swinging for a HR every time and allowing his swing to miss a lot because he isn't controlling where the bat ends up very well. I think he may benefit a lot from being given 2 games off and have him watch tape of his AB's this season. My guess is BP doesn't help much because he can actually get good contact against the meatballs thrown in BP. I don't know what it means to say he's swinging for a HR. Aramis always swings the bat really hard, whether he's lining balls off the wall, hitting HR or popping out to shallow right center.
  24. He's going to get called up before I expected.
  25. Seriously. Is the Parker/Gaub/Stevens triumvirate on the Cubs' radar? I have to think he will be involved in the Lilly return shakeup. Although there's no need to wait until Saturday.
