  1. That's terrible. Do no admit this.
  2. Could he not start putting together some Theriot years for the Cubs starting next year as a replacement for Theriot? If it saves a few million, why not? Yeah, I guess so actually. It'd probably be smart for us to at least give him a shot at 2B next year, because conceivably it could save us 4-5 mill that we could spend somewhere else. That said, has he EVER played 2B anywhere? I'd figure he could probably make the transition, but who knows? No idea, but a more realistic option may be as the primary backup at 2B and SS, and heir to the 2B spot when Theriot leaves as a free agent. But I'd be happy to see him Ryan gone before 2011 starts.
  3. Is that some sort of human centipede symbol?
  4. I'm sure Rocky has been itching to get that cash flow revved up again.

  6. I just love that Zambrano was on the mound and Theriot was at second at the time. One guy is thinking, how'd he do that, and the other thinking damn it's nice to have somebody who can do that.
  7. The Yankees aren't too far behind the Rays right now, I think you have to rank Jeter high because of that.
  8. Vitters is off to a hell of a start in AA, .361/.361/.556
  9. I think we've got the next Cutting Edge star.
  10. Maybe if he didn't put so many chemicals in his body he wouldn't have gone throught that.
  11. You're telling your guys, "we stink at home and have to mix things up." What if they lose that game? Then what? They are in total control, what is the point of introducing gimmicks? They've been horrible in most of the home games in the playoffs. It may be a dumb gimmick, but I'm for anything that changes the mojo that we have entering home games. How about we just play like we do on the road at the United Center? Is that really too much to ask for? They are 3-2 at home in the playoffs, and dominated there in the regular season. I don't get the need to sound an alarm.

  13. Because he didn't suck last year Didn't he actually just get a little lucky with an abnormally low HR/FB rate? He got a little bit lucky with it (5.1%), but it wasn't wildly lower than normal – his career HR/FB rate is 8.5% and 8.3% and 7.0% his first two years with the Cubs. So yeah, he got fairly lucky with that. I don't think there's much unluckiness going on with this year's numbers, though. Some stats make it look like he bounced back a little last year, but xFIP makes it look like it simply continued on negative trend that began a couple years ago.
  14. You're up 2-0, why get caught up in the whole "can't win at home" thing? It's not like they've been terrible at the united center.
  15. As far as Ramirez is concerned, there's a certain segment of the population that never got any enjoyment out of his time here, they hated him when he was good. So it's not like they turned on him, they just finally found justification for their hate.
  16. oh shut up Nope, don't think I will. He's been the best Cubs for 7 years, and I like him as a player because of that. Why should I go into hiding?
  17. Pitcher was 8th, soto is up 9th What would have been the reasoning for flipping them when he did?
  18. Gameday is throwing me off. He would have had to tell them Soto was coming in to replace Nady and not Colvin, correct? Why would you even do that? Why would you want the pitchers spot coming up sooner?
  19. So he brought Soto into the 9th spot and the pitcher into the 8th spot?
  20. The guy's career has taken place almost entirely in the second half of this decade. He had an injury that the vast majority of people say hitters should be able to return from with minimal problems. He didn't even start for Fukudome yesterday against a lefty. Seriously, what is the big deal?
