  1. Not if he has serious damage to his arm. He was talking about renowned surgeon, Dr. Richard Peterson.
  2. bat boy is getting reprimanded from the ump (via Quade)
  3. castro smacks a hanging breaking ball for an RBI double scoring Fukudome.
  4. Garza started the game wild high and now gives up a big blast to Braun. 2-0 Brewers
  5. Well, that is only how it pertains to him playing with the Cubs. He can theoretically stick at 1B and be traded to another team after the Cubs sign a real one. But he will really have to show more offensively for a team that wants to win to put him at 1B.
  6. The 40-man roster crunch is one place where the depth over quality gameplan can really bite you. If you have a whole bunch of okay players they better become useful very quickly or else you'll just have to let them go.
  7. There was at least excellent one on the vancouversun's photo gallery.
  8. Well, there are a good number of seats where you can't see the whole field. Everything back up under the grandstand sucks.
  9. That's weird. The crappier the results have gotten the less you dislike Hendry?
  10. Nothing but class in Vancouver
  11. I don't think you can list 3B as a likely upgrade, nor expect it to be easy to upgrade it.
  12. I disagree with most of your plan. First off, reducing the season to 144 games is a non-starter. That would be a huge cut to revenue, and just pointless. Second, going from 8 to 12 teams in the playoffs is not "increasing slightly". That is a very big jump. Lastly, I see no reason to do away with divisions. It's not about being as certain as possible that you get the 8 or 10 or 12 best teams in the playoffs. You go to 6 5 team divisions. You have one interleague series at all times, which adds nothing to the current # of games. You add 1 WC team to each league, and those WC teams play each other in a 1 game playoff for the right to face the 1 seed. This maintains interest in as many cities as possible throughout the season, rewards winning your division and having best record in the league. Adds intrigue to the WC chase, because teams won't just want to settle for that. And those 2 1 game playoffs will be huge draws.
  13. I don't think it's foolish to assume they will compete. It would be a huge disappointment if they don't compete. And if they make the same mistakes they've done in the past, they won't compete. They absolutely should, and could contend in 2012. There are no guarantees. But this is an average offense, and the addition of one excellent player at the right position could make this a good offense.
  14. Debt structure, not an issue. No insights into reallignment but it might be interesting. Expenses: We haven't gotten the kind of performance on the field that we were expecting. We are disappointed. Still have 94 games left and optimistic. investing in Arizona, DR Haven't played well, gave some games away, had some injuries. Respectfully disagree with Gammons calling this a dump. However, we knew we have to have a plan to have this place around for another 50 years. It's not a dump, just needs some love. Mets situation unfortunate. Incapital My day job is here. My #2 guy there is now my #1 guy, everything is fine. Excited about Milwaukee and Yankees.
  15. Ricketts interview coming up on CNBC.
  16. Bruce Miles tweets that Diamond is gone http://twitter.com/#!/BruceMiles2112/status/81084939902259200
  17. I'm not sure Baker is much of an issue either. He's got like the 2nd or 3rd highest OPS on the team. You are missing the point, they both will probably become issues when they play everyday. Nothing in their past suggests they will continue to be productive when they play everyday. I find it hard to believe the Cubs can't find someone better than Reed Johnson and Tony Campana to play CF, especially with the history of back problems for Johnson. I think Marlon Byrd was the plan for that role until he broke his face. If Baker plays everyday and sucks, then it will be an issue. But it's not like LeMehieu is some force that needs to be in the game.
  18. Maria Bartiromo is broadcasting on CNBC from CF, and will be throwing out the first pitch for some odd reason.

  20. http://deadspin.com/5812206/nfl-is-surprisingly-uncool-with-its-players-appearing-in-uniform-advertising-pornstar-exxxtravaganza Major Wright is going to be used in a lot more double team situations next season.
  21. Where do you find his current error totals? Tenn: 2010 &2011 Daytona: 2009 & 2010 Peoria: 2008 & 2009 Does 15 errors indicate he's not erratic? If half of those errors are due to poor footwork or drops, then he's certainly not "fear for your life if you're behind first base" erratic. Well, the guy supposedly has been to games to see the results, all we have is an error total. Obviously fear for your life is going to be an exagerration, but, "the ball is going to end up in the stands on occasion" may be quite accurate. And it's the same thing.
