  2. Yeah, I'm guessing there wasn't a gaggle of reporters standing by him for hours to see how he was treated. This is a side story.
  3. Hilariously, yes. I figured it would be somebody stupid since you were asking.
  4. (Yes, I know I'm gettin off-topic) Any guesses as to what draft pick over the past 8 years has accumulated the most WAR as a Cub? Darwin Barney? samardzija?
  5. It changes the trend of the top of the line guys getting bigger and bigger guaranteed contracts. They aren't as concerned about potential 2nd round guys getting first round money, but they don't want the #1 pick in the draft getting $50 million. Isn't that what I was just saying? Now I'm confused. Yeah, in practice it should limit that. I'm just saying that if you have a truly "once in a generation" guy who is really confident in his abilities, he could make his demands clear. It's very risky though and in the end you probably won't see it happen very often.
  6. where's treymon when you need him? Going to be a fantastic opportunity for the Bears coming up, I hope they take advantage.

  8. Regardless of what it sounds like, the Rangers starting pitchers don't throw that many pitchers per start.
  9. You aren't very good at watching football. It's not like the only choice he had was to grab something and pull it up. That is not a move used in making a tackle.
  10. I can only assume Drew will have fun with this one on KSK: Yeah, only in New York would there be three Steelers fans going to a Steelers bar an hour and a half before gametime. What the hell Peter? You see Steelers fans and Steelers bars in every city.
  11. A first round phenom can still make his demands clear so that he drops out of the top 10 rounds and gets his deal later.
  12. it was a bad call, but it really didn't matter that the refs called the penalty. Only because it was already a blow out.
  13. I watch them all the time and enjoy teasing a friend of mine who is all self conscious about how the league treats the Steelers. Even they aren't anywhere near as dirty as the Lions have shown to be. "So it's going to turn into if you're going to fine me $40,000, I might as well put him to sleep for real or I might as well blow his knee out." - Ryan Clark i'd pull up a bunch of James Harrison quotes too if i thought you might be capable of reasoning with on this matter really, where were these absurd histrionics when Meriweather ran across the field to spear Burleson in the helmet after the play during the first meeting? Like I said, the Steelers have been dirty. The Lions were worse.
  14. Yeah, chances are they won't go 6-10, but that's not the point.
  15. Refs are kind of bad at differentiating hard hits and illegal hits. There are legit reasons why helmet hits should be flagged. But the Bears are generally a sound tackling team when it comes to those things. A lot of players launch into guys with their helment, so the refs just assumed Briggs did the same thing, when he clearly did not.
  16. They are pretty different scenarios. Young was already in house on an elite team when Montana went down. Trading Manning is a near impossibility with his contract.
  17. huh, I didn't notice Peppers ripping off Calvin's helmet after he was already on the ground. I'll have to watch the replay. yea, I'm having trouble remembering that one too. Peppers wrapped Johnson around the upper chest area. It was clearly not a penalty. Suh made another swing at Cutler and got the helment, they aren't comparable.

  19. Yeah, they had a nice run, but it was the fewest wins in 8 years. They were already looking like a lesser team than the real contending Colts squads of the past decade.
  20. they will make it a lot more fun for them to sign free agents.
  21. I was referring to their "look" while at the plate. I saw the Cubs uniform on deck but wasn't sure who it was until the announcers finally stopped their 5 minute discussion of the reliever.
  22. Why do you think Lake will lose his eligibility?
  23. Aren't we already pretty close to top 15? I thought consensus was closer to 20.
