The victims deserved a proper investigation, but it was covered up and swept away by the powers that be in the football program, athletic department, university and State College. Paterno attempted to bully the board into letting him stay because he has always been the most powerful figure there and the one with final say. But they finally stood up to him. All they took away from him was the ability to coach a couple more games. That's all. And it was obviously the absolute right decision. They didn't ruin his reputation or legacy. The scandal, that he was a part of, did that.
