  1. Bears are favored by 4 and the over/under is the 4th highest of the day at 46.5. San Diego has been better agaisnt the pass than the run, but that has more to do with facing only two decent passing teams and a bunch of crap otherwise. They've had success through the air themselves, but not like the best teams, given how poorly they've done protecting the QB and throwing picks. This is a game where the Bears offense, specifically the passing game probably has to perform well. It's going to be tough, but they should be able to cover if they are for real and have hopes of playoff success.
  2. Their first choice was Ventura then Matheny so now they have to go back to the drawing board.
  3. Where do you see that? Weather.com shows a high of 49 next Sunday. accuweather is 54
  4. that division is a combined -160 in point differential. Still not as bad as Indy though.
  5. okay, don't see what the issue is. I'd posted a link to it a couple other times and figured people who have been reading would realize what is it. hardly deserved a WTF response.
  6. WTF, Jersey? wtf what? did you think I was trying to pretend I wrote it? No I did not. so why the WTF response?
  7. whatever, Bryce Harper will be a free agent before Pujols contract is up.

  9. Play in the AFC West.
  10. http://espn.go.com/nhl/powerrankings Three straight big wins vaults the Blackhawks up the espn power rankings, and shut me up about concerns for now.
  11. Sounds like a mentality of removing the reliance on pitch counts as well. There is a difference between being cognizant of pitch counts and being ruled by them. Yeah, it's probably more about the coaches realizing where they are, but not telling the pitcher you will be coming out at 85 pitches, or 105 pitches, or 125 pitches. The coaches know, and obviously do not overextend their pitchers (unlike Dusty who let young guys throw 130+ with regularity).
  12. http://kissingsuzykolber.uproxx.com/2011/11/peter-king-thinks-the-psu-scandal-is-awfully-aaron-boone-ish.html#more-41335 Peter's Boston obsession starts early.
  13. Sure, but that doesn't make a 3pm game different from a noon game.
  14. How so? If anything you want the west coast team playing earlier I'm thinking about the potential change of temperature by halftime when it starts getting dark. Of course, if the weather isn't cold, it won't be an issue. If it's not going into the 20's, I don't think the relative drop in temperature will have that much of an effect.
  15. The problem I have with this is we've seen plenty of times where a team like Cincy comes in and Kearns or Dunn have no trouble going deep while the Cubs struggle. Just put a quality pitching staff together with a solid lineup and you will be fine. Don't worry about tailoring for Wrigley, worry about having a good roster.

  18. Yeah, I'm guessing there wasn't a gaggle of reporters standing by him for hours to see how he was treated. This is a side story.
  19. Hilariously, yes. I figured it would be somebody stupid since you were asking.
  20. (Yes, I know I'm gettin off-topic) Any guesses as to what draft pick over the past 8 years has accumulated the most WAR as a Cub? Darwin Barney? samardzija?
  21. It changes the trend of the top of the line guys getting bigger and bigger guaranteed contracts. They aren't as concerned about potential 2nd round guys getting first round money, but they don't want the #1 pick in the draft getting $50 million. Isn't that what I was just saying? Now I'm confused. Yeah, in practice it should limit that. I'm just saying that if you have a truly "once in a generation" guy who is really confident in his abilities, he could make his demands clear. It's very risky though and in the end you probably won't see it happen very often.
  22. where's treymon when you need him? Going to be a fantastic opportunity for the Bears coming up, I hope they take advantage.
