    lol...lilly is what i think about when i reflect on that piss poor showing in the playoffs last season... that and game 3... i was at work and i was trying to get out of there as soon as possible so i could rush home and watch the game!!! blah i remember running over to the TV at work and seeing that Hill and rooting on him to get a strike in the count...he did and i cheered and then i realized that the score was already 1-0... i missed the leadoff homer...but damn did that moment sock me in the gut... what a crappy night that was!

    yeah, but you watched him "tight-rope" in the games last season right? what makes you think that is going to be any easier to watch if he takes the mound in the 1st? it will be a disaster...probably on par or worse than wade miller... just say no to dempster in any situation...lets trade him if possible Reading comprehension is a good thing. doh...that was before coffee! #-o

    Yes, it's one day closer to being done or not being done. In other words, most of what was published or broadcast yesterday was nonsense. The Cubs would still like Roberts. They are not trading Hill, Pie or Colvin for him. As I said yesterday, they're willing to give up some combination of Gallagher-Marshall-Cedeno for him, and that's it. The names of Hill, Marmol, Pie and Colvin are what the Orioles would be asking for Bedard, and the Cubs aren't in on any Bedard deal. Thanks, Bruce. Off topic, but have you heard anything about Hendry acquiring another starter or is he content with the rotation as is? Somebody asked him yesterday if Henry was looking at anybody else to acquire at the moment, and Bruce replied that they liked Lieber. Ah. Depending on how much he'd take, I'd go for that. I prefer him in the rotation over Dempster. yeah...but that still isn't good enough for a WS... see my signature for a good business plan for hendry O:)

    i am excited for baseball...don't get me wrong...but i am not terribly excited for the cubs yet... i want some more moves...mainly a pitching move...then i will be excited but yes...i have been counting down the days since the season ended! \:D/

    are you serious? why? On one hand, the structure of MLB, combined with the financial advantage the Cubs have over the competition, should allow them to maintain a contending team year in and year out. On the other hand, the absurd contracts Jim Hendry has handed out could lead to serious trouble in a couple of years. I think they have a windown in 2008/2009, but I think they can reopen one right after that one closes, if the new owner hires smart people to run the baseball team. yes...all of this makes sense... my proposed window is probably all of our windows though...2008... with the right move this organization can field a team with a very good chance...santana to the red sox be damned... i am just tired of going in on a wing and a prayer...go in with a damn good chance and if they fail...oh well
