    The Padres have talked to the Cubs about a trade for Mark Prior. The Cubs have reportedly been asking about second baseman Rayner Contreras, left-hander Wade Leblanc and outfielder Chad Huffman. Prior lives in San Diego and would like to pitch for the Padres, so the team figures it wouldn't be difficult to get him signed if it controlled his rights. well...it looks like he is probably going to be gone :-({|=

    i don't think the twins will bite for anything without hughes, nor should they... same thing with the red sox...they would have to give up either bucholz or ellsbury

    'Twould be true. I talked to both Hendry and Dempster about it. Ryan is excited about the resurgent Blackhawks, I might add. Wait... it's true that they're considering moving him to the rotation, or it's true that they've decided to move him to the rotation? I want to go on record right now and say that putting Dempster back into the rotation is going to be a disaster. i am right there with you...i am right there with you :-#

    i wouldn't mind crawford or rocco...but the rays always ask for way way way too much let's just start this offseason right with fukudome

    From TB's perspective, they'll want as much pitching with as little service time as possible. Gallagher, Marshall and Marmol fits that bill. Yeah, we wouldn't be happy with the Cubs making that move, but Tampa and Chicago are quite different as far as motive to deal. Tampa is going to look for salary relief and cheap young pitching. The Cubs aren't as concerned about cost and just need some production. Regardless, I think the Rays can and will get a much better offer than Gallagher, Marshall, and Marmol, and I doubt even the Rays would be dumb enough to take an offer for Crawford in which the centerpiece is a relief pitcher. i don't know man...their bullpen is absolutely horrible... BTW...who are they going to replace crawford with in the outfield?

    It may be speculation and I think ARod would be crazy to not include the Sox due to their nicely filled wallets. yes, everything is speculation right now i suppose...but goodness...that team is going to be just plain [expletive] scary if a-rod is stationed at the hot corner come spring...dice-k is most likely going to have a terrific season...the only real question mark with boston right now is the back end of their rotation... =P~ i would love to talk to my boston friend if that deal went down...i know i would have to hold the phone away from my ear for a solid 3-5 minutes at least!!! \:D/ That's why we give up our secret plan and send Marquis to the Sox!
