  1. Hopefully once the back is straightened out he'll be able to get it going again.
  2. Yep, that part was a given. The interesting part will be where he goes from there. I'm currious as to what that means really. Will he just start getting into Arizona league games right away or will he be on some B field somewhere taking live batting practice for a week? I guess Arizona Phil should have an eye on things and have a report on TCR before to long. If he doesn't show up in box scores fairly quickly that is.
  3. (@Vinestal) 6/29/12 8:05 PM @dsmaples is that why you haven't started a game this year? that sucks, hope it gets better soon. I'm looking forward to seeing u in action. So I guess his back has been his issue. I've not really seen this reported elsewhere so I figured it was worth posting.
  4. perhaps you should give me some pointers on how to handle it. your history on this board indicates that being wrong is a position with which you are quite comfortable. You must have me confused with someone else, I rarely post mostly just lurk, due to the growing throng of A-holes here. If your going to dog a player maybe you should have some idea of what your talking about before you do. But when you do post, your grammar is excellent. Yeah admittedly it's not a strength and I'm lazy about it. Placing commas and run-on sentences Im terrible with. I should probably just stick to reading, but I hate when people make fun of a player when they've gone out of their way to improve in certain aspects of their game. I guess I should just be angry in silence.
  5. Carrie Muskat (@CarrieMuskat) 6/30/12 1:01 PM #Cubs expected to announce Jorge Soler signing today
  6. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1171001-chicago-cubs-top-3-prospects-from-2011-mlb-amateur-draft/page/4 according to this link (angelfire, lol), the average mlb player runs the 60 in 6.9 seconds. he's faster than i would have expected though. i would guess that his non-linear speed is worse, though, because he's a big dude and once all that weight gets moving in one direction, it's probably a slower process to get it turning toward another base. Sucks being wrong, just try and come to grips with it. perhaps you should give me some pointers on how to handle it. your history on this board indicates that being wrong is a position with which you are quite comfortable. 8. Daytona Cubs (@daytonacubs) 6/29/12 8:44 PM Roni Torreyes hits a home run for the second straight night and it's 8-3 Cubbies in the 5th
  9. This account is a year and a half old, but I could only assume - given the reports about his weight loss - that he's as fast if not faster as when this was written. http://www.mlbbonusbaby.com/2011/1/3/1908539/draft-prospect-to-watch-dan-vogelbach thank you weis, appriciate the backup, some people don't know what they are talking about.
  10. #6 actually, unless milb.com gave him an extra one last week I can only assume that most of these would be standing triples or in the parkers for an average runner. Tony Campana could likely round the bases 3 times. I hate that everyone assumes Voglebach is some over wieght porker that can barely run to first. he lost a good bit of wieght in the spring and most reports are that he's an average runner. He stole some bases in the instructional league. He's quite capable on the base paths give the kid a break.
  11. Is Trey Martin a legit prospect? He's been tearing it up. Also, who is Jacob Rogers? he had a monster day yesterday.
  12. Daytona Cubs (@daytonacubs) 6/28/12 8:51 PM Cubs take a 7-3 lead on Roni Torreyes' third home run of the season...it went over the scoreboard!!
  13. Womder if it was on the first pitch he saw.
  14. first chance to see Rizzo in action and I'm gonna be at work, guess I'll DVR.
  15. Yeah that's kind of why I'd like to see Underwood signed first, I hope they get it done. It's not the end of the world if they don't but Underwood looks like one of the better arms in our draft.
  16. But would you really want them to? Doesn't seem like that would be nearly necessary. Boras probably thinks it's necessary. I hope they sign Underwood and just offer what's left, I can't see him wanting to go to college. Just my opinion though.
  17. Heesch pitched last night and worked a scoreless 9th with 2 K's was that in Arizona or was I dreaming? *edit* NM that was Arizona
  18. But would you really want them to? Doesn't seem like that would be nearly necessary.
  19. How do you spend 40 million on a player you haven't even seen in game action? This seems very unwise to me. :-k
  20. Maybe they are showcasing him there for another team that needs a 1st baseman. Trade possibilities.
  21. Lake has a walk and a groundout so far tonight, Smokies are not doing well down 7-0 with only 1 hit in the 5th.
  22. Torreyes is 2-4 with a double and Alcantara is 2-4.
