Not if they're getting Jones, Clement, Tillman and Truinfel for Bedard. exactly - that would be a helluva deal for the O's My post was in the context that the Mariners are pulling there players out of games and informing them they've been traded and to head to Baltimore. Meanwhile MacPhail says there's no deal done. Someone's full of crap and it's looking like the Orioles again.

If the Orioles front office wasn't a laughing stock before MacPhail took over they are now.

PIE/Marmol/Marshall/ Hill and Santana is a Cub. Sign Lofton for CF. Gallagher/Murton//Cedeno for Roberts.

Haven't the O's recently expressed interest in getting Marquis in the Roberts trade? There was a recent report that the O's and other teams where interested in him now that the Cubs have signed Lieber.

That deal makes it seem like a pretty good deal for the Cubs. Cedeno/Gallegher/Fuld/Marquis would be nicer though. Murton/Marshall/Theriot/ for Greene I'm still dreaming.

these BABIPS will only improve with Fuko ,Pie,Soto all playing full time next season. Adding Roberts or Greene would make my head spin.

Trading 2003 so we could keep an overhyped Willis? Thats pretty weak. Blaming Baker for Wood and Priors Injury looks a lot weaker after we find out that Mr. perfect mechanics had serious injury problems the Cubs med staff wasn;t finding. How about Woods High school coach and Riggleman and Company for trotting out Wood against the Braves in the playoffs? A lot of peolpe on this board where upset we traded Choi for Lee! Juan Cruz was also the next Pedro Martinez.

Perhaps not making the 2003 would have been the best thing for the Cubs, in retrospect. This is false. This is false. That 2003 playoff push let Hendry get the go ahead to trade for Ramirez. Then after coming so close to that Hendry went out that offseason and traded for DLee, signed Twalker, Maddux and forced the Cubs Brass to take the payroll to where it should be and put pressu on Cubs brass to win now. I wouldn't trade that Divison Clincher and playoff run for anything at this point.

I'm hoping we don't get stuck with Payton because I'm not really sure what he exactly does well. I would would much prefer Huff for right field with Fuko going to center or Kevin Millar for right handed punch off the bench.

If Hendry is able to pawn off Marquis on the Orioles the starting rotation gets an upgrade via Lieber or any of the other Cubs young arms.

I can't remember seeing this much trade speculation in the media about one trade for so long that really doesn't have any big names in it. I know Roberts is an all -star but he really isn't a household name .

wow Murton and Gallegher thats a laugher. If Hendry finds a way to get Roberts and Bedard I would much prefer we sign Kenny Lofton, Brad Wilkerson, Shannon Stewart than give up more pitching depth for a guy with one good season under his belt like Byrd. He doesn't seem like much of a threat on the basebaths whats his defense and arm like?

At convention they are selling authentic jerseys with Fukodome on the back but only the home whites, no road greys yet , During the opening ceremonies at the convention there was a photo of Fuku holding a Fukodome Jersey and a Koskue Jersey so for awhile even the Cubs didn't know which he would choose.
