  1. I just can't wait for Rich Hill vs. the undead corpse of Cy Young. I'm saying the Cy's team wins by 900.
  2. Probably has nothing to do with George The Rose and J Happ being southpaws. ok, so why is he being platooned for ANOTHER LEFTY? is there a emoticon for a shrug?

  4. Except as a corner OF they are not 12 million dollar players. At CF it's debatable. according to the major league split. The difference between the average RF compared to the average CF is between 30-40 points of OPS Rios will play CF this yr and most think he is the eventual replacement to Dye in RF. Rios in RF= bad contract for his production. Rios in CF=tolerable contract for essential a league average at the position player. So if the Sox move him back to RF starting in 10 then this is awfully big gamble. If they move him to RF it's a terrible contract and the same kind of stupidity that did the Jay's in. Moving rios to right means you better have Sizemore, Kemp or Beltran not scott freaking posednik.

  6. His defense must be incredibly stellar, because he's currently OPSing 110 points lower than Kosuke and they're making similar amounts of money. Or Kosuke is worth a good bit more than he's making. And in the corner Kosuke is exposed as at best a mediocre player. In center he's pretty damn good.
  7. Rios plays better defense, younger, and plays CF Which makes him a really solid 4th OFer, not a $60 million dollar man. White Sox are not going to like this deal as he is getting older. No.
  8. Considering this is his second year of year round baseball. And he's never spent a full year in the minors despite coming out of college being extremely raw. I'd say it's safe to say he was rushed.
  9. Is this the fresh topic to replace the stale "Hoff needs to replace Lee" we heard in april and may?
  10. Was that written by Steve Stone? Gorzellanny is a marginal talent compared to Kevin Hart and Jose Ascanio? Ignore the fact Grabow was probably more than anything a need more than a want. sidenote, LOL at that article. The White Sox were losers? Getting Peavy without giving up Beckham, Ramirez, Flowers or Viciedo that's a bad move?
  11. Did any of those players come back in the same season and help the arch rival win the division? Because that's what we may be looking at here. So it's Hendry's fault that the Indians underachieved and gave Derosa to the highest bidder? :-))
  12. If Agreed it is the worst move in since brock. Letting Greg Maddux walk in his prime was peanuts compared to the awesome power of a 35 year old middle infielder in the final year of his deal who was coming off a career year. I'd love to see the look on your face if DeRo ends up with 25+ HR, 90+ RBI and a Division Title with the Cards while having something like $40 million less to work with than Hendry. If you don't think DeRosa was bungled, you're on your third great big jug of apologist Kool-Aid. If you think letting Derosa go is one of the worst moves the cubs have made in decades you haven't been a cub fan for long or if you have you haven't paid much attention. It's not even one of the five worst moves of the past 10 years if you include the draft.
  13. Again Omar Minaya laughs at this along with Ned Coletti and Brian Sabean.
  14. The cubs would have a million world series titles if it wasn't for that meddlin' Jim Hendry

  16. GMs say that every year, and then every year almost nothing happens in August. Really the ONLY position the Cubs need to get anything from is 2B..... And SS, 1B, C, and the entire outfield.
  17. Yes, they didn't get Adam Dunn and didn't trade Lee. Massive fail on hendry's part.
  18. I'll take that action It's rare the times when Hendry makes a bad trade. Yeah it happens often. Miles for Derosa. Edmonds for that angry black guy.
  19. ugh what a terrible deal. What did hendry couldn't fit a free box of krispy cremes in there for Vitters.
  20. Holliday is signing with the cardinals. I bet that bumble**** okie will sign a 4 year deal for 3 million just for the honor of playing for the best fans in baseball. ALSO FIRE HENDRY.
  21. Well now they have Mark Derosa. That's like getting 110 OPS+ producing LF and 3B. Because you know he can play both.
  22. why would they want our crappy players. Vitters is a harveyesque bust. Jay Jax is nothing more than a 3 on a bad AAA team, H-J Lee couldn't start in the KBL and Marshall is worthless.
  23. Maddux had no reason to be retired by the cubs. It's not like despite missing his peak he like he's 2nd in wins for the cubs since the dead ball era. Oh, and he won a cy young with the club.
