Nah, the Cubs haven't reached laughing stock status. They're bad but it's not like the Cubs are getting blown out every game. Even though these one and two run losses seem to hurt more... As long as the pitching remains as good as it has been (especially lately), they can't be the laughing stock (that currently belongs to Baltimore).

One of my biggest fears is the Cubs will be no-hit this season and 2010 will be forever remembered for it's offensive ineptitude instead of dominating pitchers (and yeah, I know the Rays have been no-hit twice this season, and 3 times in roughly a year, but they are otherwise a good team).

Man, the offense is pathetic and they are wasting some really good pitching. Very disappointing...

Per Live CSN News conference: Jim Hendry says: Carlos is going on the restricted list and will need to go for treatment by doctors approved through MLB & Player's Assoc. He won't be reinstated before the Allstar Break. The Cubs will go back to 25 players tomorrow; Jeff Stevens will return. He is not paid while suspended but he will be as a restricted player. -

I know this is supposed to be Jackson's moment in the sun but the more remarkable thing is the Rays being no-hit 3 times in a calendar year. :shock: I wonder if it's happened before but I'm too lazy to look it up. -

With the Rays being no hit in consecutive seasons, you'd think guys would start dropping down bunts in the 3rd inning just to break it up before it got late in the game. -

Hendry says he's been suspended pending MLB and Player's Association investigation. The Cubs have to play with 24 players per the rules...

The only reason Lou should be embarassed is because Z did what Lou hasnt done all year and acted like he gave a damn. Come on man, give me a break. Z acted like a moron. Publically calling out teammates is not something that anyone should do (especially someone who has been basically horrendous all year).

I have to give Lou credit for once. I think he handled that very well. Exactly. Z's full of [expletive]. Even if it were true, that the defenders didn't dive for balls, no one could catch that 3 run homer. He serves up a meatball and then starts calling out teammates. That's twisted.

Lou stepping out saying Z has to apologize to his teammates at the very least but he's hoping for more... Lou sent him home to avoid an incident in the clubhouse. Also said he's embarassed by this incident.

Forget Ryne. I'd take Brenly or Girardi. Lou just said he's talking to Hendry about Z because his behavior "can't be tolerated." I think Z's getting suspended (rightfully so).

Paul Sullivan just tweeted that Rickett's spokeman blames the Cell for Z's out bursts. He doesn't think it would happen at WF. LOL, ok... Of course, the Barrett incident also happened at the Cell (and Lou called Milton a piece of [expletive] there too. LMAO, that place sucks ass). Edit: Ok, what was I thinking? I know the Z/Barrett fight happened at Wrigley Field in a game against the Braves.

Z has done very little to contribute to the success of the team this year. Blame and general in-fighting does nothing to help winning nor is it a sign that he wants to win.
