  1. Hit the bricks LaToy. That was totally intentional. It looked to me like he was aiming at Sori
  2. I love Castro. He was safe; that "tag" looked to be between his hands not on either one.
  3. Colvin is still in the game. Soriano was replaced and Colvin went to LF.
  4. LaRussa tried to steal a run. Oh yeah, Theriot's an idiot.
  5. Am I the only person who read, about a month ago, that WGN had special local rights to this game? Also, there's an ad in today's Trib sports section saying the game will be on WGN tonight. However, they are playing some crappy movie... Blah, I hate the ESPN broadcast.
  6. If those balls getting away from the bullpen, all the way to homeplate, mean anything, it's going to be a wild ninth from Marmol
  7. . I agree with the first part. I think the logic is just the opposite of the second part however... If Ricketts is planning to remove Hendry he wants to keep that close to the vest. Not many quality managers would want to come into a situation where the GM is unsettled. It makes sense to present continuity even when change is in the plans. Im basing the second part on all the reports saying Hendry is coming back next season. It seems pretty much a done deal that Hendrys back and thats the presumption Im working under. So again what manager wants to come into that situation? Honestly, I think that's a fine situation for most if not all managers. No one who would consider taking the job will think "hmmmm, Hendry may be fired if we don't start out well..." That's not how managers think. It's more likely that the next manager will be happy that some structure is in place to "win." That's not to say I'm for Hendry staying or that I believe he will stay. I believe that it makes no sense for Ricketts to present the "company' as a place that's totally in transistion (manager, GM, and potential farm system changes/openings could scare off a veteran manager and potential free agents).
  8. Call me crazy but I don't like the idea of Joe Torre. I think this team needs a manager who can, conceivably, be around for the longterm not another stop-gap guy who will be looking at retirement in a few years. I believe Torre is older than Lou.

  10. I read that Hendry's job status is complicated because Ricketts likes Oneri Fleita and Tim Wilken; and the speculation is it's almost a certainty that they would both resign, out of loyalty, if Hendry is let go.
  11. It's 11-3 and the fat man say "...this is starting to get out of hand." Sorry the Phillies aren't leading Jon.
  12. Man, we could have swept them (I know, this isn't over but it's a 7 run lead in the 7th; they better win this).
  13. I agree. He's brutal. Where is Bob? Watching his kid play. He's suppose to return on Monday.
  14. I wish Hollandsworth didn't talk so much! He has more to say than Len. Shut up
