  1. Could've gone to pretty much any RH hitter and left Griffey in the OF next inning. Who? Ellison or Bellhorn? Hamilton hitting was the right move.
  2. No. Unless you want to see Mark Bellhorn.
  3. Burton has been studly as of late.
  4. Hamilton looked FUGLY in that AB.
  5. Walking Hopper to get to Hamilton? Interesting move.
  6. Sigh Time for NoHo to find a hole.
  7. Yep, that was awful on his part.
  8. LOL Yost is is such a moron. THANK YOU, NED.
  9. Yost would be nuts not to turn Javy around.
  10. Bases loaded.
  11. Fixed Because he needs a day off and we were facing a lefty?
  12. No you weren't. Um yea I was slick. lol Did you just call me slick?
  13. No you weren't.
  14. Why was Harang still in?
  15. What? Everyone does the 7th inning stretch. NEWSFLASH, the Cubs weren't the first team do it.
  16. Told flames that was going to happen before it did. Why Keppinger is hitting 3rd and Dunn 5th, I have no idea.
  17. 2 infield hits. lol
  18. Not only do the Brewers and Cubs go into a freefall, the Cardinals come back to well within striking range, the Reds are playing good baseball over an extended period of time, and the Astros were very recently as close as six games to first place. It'll be a 5-horse "race" by the end of September, with the winner being whoever stumbles across the 80-win mark. There's alot of time left, and we have abunch of games left against the central, but we have to go something like 27-12 over the last 39 to just get to .500. With the amount of games we have left against the teams ahead of us, it's possible, but I'm not getting my hopes up. If we ever get within 5 of 1st place, I'll get excited. Until then, I'll just take each win for what it is.
  19. Never seen somebody got 3rd deck (Dew deck) in Miller Park before. He's going to hit well over 40 and drive in well over 100 this year. We better re-sign him.
  20. It's amazing what happens when you replace 3 black holes (Freel, Ross, Gonzalez) with 3 guys who are GASP better hitters (Hamilton--granted he was hurt--, Keppinger, and Valentin). Hopper plays in CF vs. lefties and has an OBP over .400 against them, and we finally just let Edwin play 3rd everyday. All 5 of the guys have been in the organization all year, and it took until now to figure it out. The Reds are playing good baseball right now. Won 8 of 12 and have the best record in the NL since July 1st.
  21. Uh, who is going to testify to sealed grand jury testimony? nobody... if Schilling is being sued for defamation of Bonds' character, he can use Bonds' own grand jury testimony to show that he indeed did use steroids. I wasn't aware that Bonds's grand jury testimony had been unsealed. that's what confuses this non-lawyer: we know that schilling is innocent, but as far as I can tell, he can't use the sources of his knowledge as a defense. Pretty simple way to stay out of this trouble if you are Schilling. Shut your big mouth. Pretty funny that Schilling spouts off about users when one of his best friend (Luis Gonzalez) is one of the most obvious users. Hypocrite much?
  22. Uh, who is going to testify to sealed grand jury testimony? nobody... if Schilling is being sued for defamation of Bonds' character, he can use Bonds' own grand jury testimony to show that he indeed did use steroids. You can't use leaked grand jury testimony in court. It's sealed, no matter who leaked it, it's still sealed. It simply can't be used in court. Uh, who is going to testify to sealed grand jury testimony? Pretty much what I'm going to say. If I'm Barry, I start going after people. Just bring a copy of Game of Shadows. Case dismissed. This is just a ploy anyway, to try and scare anyone else who might be thinking of speaking out against Barry. Nothing but some intimidation to try and silence the very real criticism that Bonds doesn't want to have to deal with anymore. What part of Game of Shadows is proven fact either?
  23. Helliuva game guys, thought for sure we were gonna blow it. I'll be at Wrigley tomorrow. Go Reds.
  24. -Reds placed David Ross on the DL and recalled Ryan Jorgesen -Alex Gonzalez is away from the team to be be with his ill child. Lineup: Hamilton cf Keppinger ss Griffey rf Phillips 2b Dunn lf Hatteberg 1b Valentin c Encarnacion 3b Harang p
  25. There was some part deep down inside me that thought Krivsky had some decent GM skills. That changed today. Jon Coutlangus (age 26) 2007: 3.93 ERA, 36.2 IP, 32 K Todd Coffey (age 26) 2007: 6.04 ERA, 36 K, 45 IP Mike Stanton (Age 40) 5.03 IP, 27 K, 39 IP Gary Makjewski (Age 27) MLB: 15.88 ERA, 5.2 IP, 3 K AAA: 3.96 ERA, 38.2 IP, 30 K Brad Salmon (Age 27) MLB: 3.92 ERA, 20.2 IP, 18 K AAA: 3.28 ERA, 24 IP, 23 K I'll let you pick 2. Not a real brain teaser is it? If you're answer wasn't Salmon and Coutlangus you need help. Now I bring you this: This Now brings the Reds bullpen to: Jared Burton 3.54 ERA Todd Coffey 6.05 ERA Mike Gosling 4.35 ERA Eddie Guardado --- Gary Majewski 15.88 ERA Victor Santos 4.50 ERA Mike Stanton 5.03 ERA David Weathers 3.40 ERA The Reds have 4 bullpen pitchers with ERA's under 4, and half of them are in AAA (Coutlangus and Burton). How does that make any sense? Did I mention we are carrying 13 pitchers? We have no backup outfielders. Now I present this from the Reds beat writer. Remember this is not a fan, this is a beat writer. We can only hope the last line is true, because I give up.
