  1. Wow, that was a scumbag move.
  2. I dunno... LeBron and Kobe are somewhat villains to anyone not Heat or Lakers fans. Though, I always viewed Ewing as a villain, but that was just because I was a Bulls fan and he played for the Knicks. I'm not sure what fans league-wide thought of Jordan though... I think overall, the '92 team had a good group of likable players, who were also phenomenal players. What a concept. You don't HAVE to be a douche 24/7 to be good?
  3. Agreed, this matchup and the '85 Bears vs. Everybody else.
  4. Dempster for De Jesus seems to be pretty on par with our past trades to the Dodgers...
  5. I want to agree with this, but I'm really conflicted. I'm still a big Deron Williams fan.
  6. Do we really need another Josh Vitters thread? The other one is still on the 1st page.
  7. This argument bores me. Maybe if we stop talking, CubbyVirus will stop replying?
  8. Dunno if this belongs here or in the NBA thread(s), but Kyrie Irving is good. http://www.buzzfeed.com/jpmoore/kyrie-irving-blew-everyones-minds-at-the-olym Not sure why he's not on the roster.
  9. I think you forgot something. Ugh horrible. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16qhwX26vOA&feature=youtube_gdata_player Also, I recommend watching with speakers off. Thanks for the speaker warning!
  10. Fear not, everybody. I saw that the Bulls are kicking the tires on Derek Fisher.
  11. For starters, anything that gets Dusty's panties in a bunch is a plus, though it comes at the hands of LaRussa. Secondly, Phillips and Cueto were pretty key players in the brawl that knocked LaRue into retirement (though it could easily be argued he should have hung up the spikes years ago). So yes, if I was LaRussa, I would still hold a grudge.
  12. Dusty can't understand why Tony LaRussa didn't select Cueto and Phillips for the All-Star team. Sounds like he's pretty pissed about it. I'm not a LaRussa apologist, but if I were in his shoes, I would do the same thing. http://tracking.si.com/2012/07/03/tony-la-russa-all-star-game-dusty-baker-johnny-cueto/?sct=hp_t2_a10&eref=sihp
  13. He's proven that he has the stuff. It's just a matter of him being consistent with his mechanics and location. I hope today (and the first month+) are more indicative of what to expect moving forward. Even a slight drop-off will still be really good. June was just really bad for him.
  14. Yeah, that was my reaction to that as well. What an ass. Has anyone ever seen him and Vince McMahon at the same time? Somebody needs to hit Stern with an effing folding chair. HE'S GONNA PUKE! HE'S GONNA PUKE! HE'S GONNA PUKE!
  15. HEY! Your foot isn't supposed to bend that way, dummy!
  16. I think the subject line needs updated.
  17. This is about how I feel... Though, my views are solely based on the mlb.tv package I purchased. I get to watch a few weekend games as long as they start at the right time. Since a majority of the home games are day games, I can't watch those unless my boss is out. If they play St. Louis at all, I can't watch those games at all. I dropped cable because it was costing an arm and a leg for what I was getting. It was "cheaper" to get mlb.tv and just have DSL, but I can't watch anything!
  18. I'm about an inning behind... is Bob having a stroke? Len was just talking about Rizzo getting a change-up first pitch and Bob starts talking about Camp getting the last guy in the top of the inning out on a ground ball inducing change-up. Then, a little later, when the Mets stole 2nd, Bob started talking about how when the ball beats you by that much, it shouldn't matter if you actually get the tag down.
  19. The Rizzoner.
  20. Whenever he gets a hit, we'll have a rizzplosion in our pantaloons.
  21. The only #'s that count (and since he is starting the season a bit late): .397avg/54hr/134rbi.
  22. I think David posted about this last page... Any word on what happened?
  23. For as fast as Gathright was, he wasn't a good base stealer.
  24. After having some time to reflect on the Warrior Dash, I must say, it wasn't TOO challenging. The heat was rough, but the obstacles were all manageable and the distance (3.2 miles) was nothing extreme. I'm looking into doing the Spartan Run in Marseilles, Il in October now. It's an 8 mile run with more (and more challenging) obstacles.
  25. I did it in SoCal. None of the obstacles were that challenging. There were people who looked like they'd have trouble walking a 5K on a flat course, and they did fine. I'm kind of afraid of heights, and that was the hardest part for me. Even though the obstacles aren't that high (maybe 25 feet for the tallest?), I get skittish up there. Crawling over the horizontal cargo net was awkward, but it wasn't hard. Anyway, I'm betting you'll be fine. And it was a pretty fun time. People are there just having a blast. There's another race coming up here in LA, some kind of zombie run. I believe it's a 5K with obstacles, but you also have flags (like from flag football) on your waist. As you run, people in zombie makeup chase after you and try to snag your flags. If you finish with at least one flag, you're eligible for prizes. http://runforyourlives.com/ My brother-in-law and I are doing a zombie run next year. We didn't find out about it soon enough and all the zombie slots were full. As for the Warrior Dash, it wasn't too bad. The heat was pretty brutal, and we walked over a mile and a half to get there (to avoid paying the $20 parking fee. We're cheap). Definitely know what I'd do differently next time.
