I'm cutting the guy a break. He lives in Belleville. It sucks down here. Belleville is not bad...has nothing to do with anything. It'd people with smart mouths. You know what ban me, this site used to be so much better way back when. No wonder I havent been here for so long. Belleville itself isn't bad, but being this close to St. Louis sucks. And you're closer than I am.

I think he's saying that you can't build an entire team on FA signings, and that you have to have a good core of homegrown talent. If there is a solid FA out there, I'm sure Theo/Hoyer are going to look at them.

A 22 year old good defensive SS with a plus bat and room for growth doesn't fit the Theo mold, eh? It's more along the lines that he doesn't walk a lot. He only relies on his ability to hit to get on base, which he has been successful at thus far. I'm in no way saying we should actively seek to trade him (and neither is my boss), but saying if someone offered a hell of a package... it would be worth a look.

My boss said that the Cubs should consider trading Castro. He's young and has a lot of potential but doesn't fit the "Theo mold." He said they'd have to be completely wowed to do it, but it could work.
