  1. Hes saying all the right things, hitting better, and barely making any money off the Cubs. You can't ask for much more from the guy.
  2. I wouldn't say its worthless, as it does indicate what a player does once he gets to the ball, but yeah, you're right.
  3. [x] weak attempt at insult [x] pointless attempt at insult [x] rude attempt at insult [ ] actual rebuttal of the arguments presented in my post Wow you are full of yourself.
  4. Like I was the only one predicting we wouldn't win. I wasn't trying to make a point, just joking around.
  5. Zambrano will likely be a better pitcher than my dead cat. HUH? I think hes equating the production of a Johnson/Edmonds platoon to his dead cat, thereby confirming that Murton/Hoffpauir would indeed be better than Johnson/Edmonds, as is my understanding.
  6. I would run over a pile of diseased orphans covered in glass to be at Wrigley watching this game.
  7. I had a feeling it was gonna be one of those games.
  8. Well that sucks...Helton looked terrible on the outside pitch so Lilly throws a nice high fastball for him. Oh well, this isn't the old Cubs, 3 runs is surmountable.

  10. I want to see Fukudome move up into the 2nd spot but the only way that happens is if Theriot starts to fall off. The longer Theriot keeps a .400 OBP the better, so I'll keep waiting.
  11. He's hitting .305 with a .397 OBP You'd think with how often this happens, people would stop assuming things without looking them up. Our brains aren't wired to watch the games, then go back and recall a certain player's at-bats in certain situations with any degree of accuracy. So we can either look up the stats or spout off some crackpot psychoanalysis, I can live with that. That's not crackpot. That's cognitive biases 101. Ahh, excuse my ignorance.

  13. I wasn't able to watch the past couple games because I was camping. I will be watching tonight and as such guaranteeing the win.
  14. Gotta agree with Mark R.'s comments: I get that you think it's a neat strategy to just write moderately inflammatory things because it will incite people and prove that you're relevant since everyone is so worked up over your 'analysis.' But honestly, only 2 teams in baseball have winning percentages over .600, Arizona and the Cubs. The Cubs lead the NL in OBP and AVG and are 2nd in SLG. They're 3rd in ERA and are arguably the best team in the National League. How about we just all enjoy the ride and agree you're probably the worst sportswriter the Trib has to offer? It's not like you've cooked up a +/- theory yet, but you're getting there.
  15. Ugh I can't believe I read the comments to that article, horrid.
  16. That's kinda funny considering his best PECOTA comp. Nice catch.
  17. Woody most likely coming in for the save
  18. Someone take away Lou's control over the bullpen, its time for an intervention.
  19. Ever since someone posted the Cubs being 8th in MLB in strikeouts they seem to be determined to climb back to the top.
  20. That's awesome. For some one who always seem to be involved in some type of controversy he sure looks like he has a lot of fun playing the game.
  21. No I refuse to believe it, that can't be true. I've already come to accept the fate of Edmond's arrival, why must more bad news come out? Oh well, I thought last game was do or die for Marquis, I guess Lou wanted to give him one last chance. Whatever. I am hating everything the Cubs are doing besides the players, thank Jeebus they are winning right now or I think I'd have to take a break.
