  1. this guy knows what hes talking about
  2. I should be at the bar for this one but I think I've had enough alcohol this weekend.
  3. I detached any emotion I had to this game before the granny. Gotta thank the Cards for sucking it up along with us.
  4. I'm also a Winter Olympics fan...Summer doesn't do much for me, I rarely pay attention. I might try to watch a little more this year but it won't be 1/10 of the Winter Olympics I watch.
  5. I love that song. Mainly because it means that the Cubs just won, but I had it on a some Cubs cassette when I was a kid in 1984. Brings back some good memories for me. :yahoo: Its not like the song is on my ipod. i just like hearing for obvious reasons
  6. we get it No, no! He just got a hit off of it! The past few weeks of sucking have just been a mirage! I hope that this is a turning point and his prolonged slump is done, but it's not like one awesome AB instantly negates how bad he's looked for a few weeks now. I would just like to see him stop his antagonistic crusade.
  7. there's no way they misspelled it did they? no, but len said it that way twice Haha, fantastic.
  8. there's no way they misspelled it did they?
  9. I keep thinking he will get down to 4.5 but he keeps going the other way
  10. I liked the signing and didn't mind the years and money. But I'm usually optimistic about Cubs' signings. I tend to back them up because I'm happy that they're doing something.
  11. paul bako - the man, the myth, the legend
  12. Plus a new LT and a new left guard and someone who was on the line but hasn't played RT in a few years. Wow. I look forward to it. Its gonna go through some growing pains but if we get our running game back it should be mediocre - which is good enough. In the words of Obama, its change we can believe in.
  13. Well that was quick. Yeah, I wonder who will pick him up. Forte FTW. Great draft pick so far.
  14. Not great immediately, but I think he'll be pretty good. This thinking led me to draft Francisco Liriano in the first 8 rounds of two fantasy drafts this year. Smart pick, TT (me too). +1. But at least you guys didn't spend a lot of money buying and trading for his baseball cards in anticipation of supreme dominance, thus spiking his cards value up big time My baseball card collection is so full of fail I pull them out just to laugh at them at times. I have 25 assorted autograph and game used Corey Patterson cards.
  15. Nice kill by the Penguins as Franzen takes a seat.
  16. I would like to see his slugging raise a bit but I'm not greedy.
  17. At least this time they actually got some shots on goal. The Red Wings power play defense has been incredibly good.
  18. Is that 2 errors for Vitters in 3 games at 3b? both throwing?
  19. Soriano spit 4 times after he hit that ball until he reached 1st base.
  20. Hoffpauir was barely OPSing above 1000, good riddance. I for one enjoy ineffective bullpen usage and a surplus of middle infielders.
  21. The only way Fukudome makes it to the 2 hole is the collapse of Theriot IMO. Lou seems to really like him in the 2 hole and Fukudome in the 5-6, its gonna take a lot to get him out of that niche. The longer it takes Theriot's return to his .350-.360 OBP norm the better.
  22. What if the initial starter is performing very well, do you leave him in? Lets say Gallagher pitches 3 innings of scoreless baseball with 3k's and no BB's - and is taken out for a pinch hitter in a bases loaded situation. Do you risk losing games with too much focus on pitch counts? At what point does one of the mini starters get phased out too often based on reactionary management? Its definitely a cool idea, I don't know how practical the approach is, but it could work given the right management.
  23. Like 90% of Sox fans I've met I've liked and gotten along with. I seem to miss the majority of the obnoxious ones. The people I can't stand are usually perpetuating their idiocy online, one good medium for that is the comment section of ESPN articles. I have yet to stroll into the depths of WSI but from the comments here I'm either gonna have a good laugh or be too frustrated to continue reading, gonna have to check it out sometime.
