  1. Take that [expletive] to trial
  2. I think Paul George will be able to, and about as well as anyone can besides Lebron James. But now that the Pacers have George Hill they have a lot more flexibility. And can use PG and Granger to cover the other wings. Gotta love that height. Interestingly enough, Michael Redd was in Indy yesterday. I'd take a 1 year gamble there, they certainly have plenty of money. ETA: If Redd is brought in to take the last roster spot. I would like to see AJ Price cut and another backup C brought in.
  3. Would anyone start Kevin Smith over Marion Barber? It looks like he will play (practiced with 1st team yesterday), and it's Oakland. I can see Seattle stuffing Barber a little too much and Bell getting a heavier workload.
  4. Fielder signing imminent
  5. http://www.hoopsworld.com/indiana-pacers-trade-oj-mayo/ This deal died. Yup. The Pacers are continuing to chase Jamal Crawford. I don't think they necessarily need another shooting guard, but it doesn't sound like he'll cost that much if he comes either. The Pacers have (pretty quietly) made some very good moves the past couple years and now have a rather formidable team. I admit some confusion about why they feel the need to chase Crawford (who I doubt signs) when Mayo was seemingly in the bag. I think Bird's whole idea with this is the Pacers don't have a superstar to give the ball to at the end of the game to score. So the more viable threats out there keeps the defense honest. Saying that, even without getting Mayo or Crawford they're still in good shape. And have done a very respectable job at becoming more interesting and even relevant again. Will be fun to watch.
  6. I'd go with Helu over Marshall regardless
  7. My team is so bunched together in its players its hard to choose who to start. QB Vick/Tebow RB (need 3) Roy Helu/Marion Barber/Felix Jones(maybe)/Steven Jackson/Kevin Smith/Mark Ingram/Stupid McFadden WR (need 2) Steve Smith/Vincent Jackson/Laurent Robinson/Marques Colston I sat Robinson and Colston last week. Didn't end up mattering but it's so easy to go with the wrong players when they're all so similar.
  8. Wow.
  9. Go away now or actually contribute something worthwhile. This has to be the one and only site on the internet where you're considered clever. Wow.
  10. Ignoring the terrible jokes prior, I forgot that amnestied players still count towards the salary floor. I'm going to assume not much will happen, besides still completing the aforementioned Mayo deal in some form.
  11. That's the best you got? Sad, unfunny man.
  12. ~18 mil in free cap space. Go crazy Bird.
  13. And the Pacers just amnestied Posey (7.6 mil) after getting close to hitting the salary cap minimum. Something is going down.
  14. I don't know how effective Hill will be at PG. No concerns defensively. Which would make him great backing up the position and sometimes closing out. I think Hill is underrated as a scorer due to the role he played in SA. But passing the ball isn't a strength of his. A deep team with no superstars reminds me of the 2000 Finals team in its construction. Maybe EG will get shipped to NO in the CP3 deal and they won't match the Pacers max deal offer next offseason.
  15. It's deep and there's some roles not yet well defined. PG - Darren Collision, AJ Price, Lance Stephenson SG - Paul George, George Hill, OJ Mayo SF - Danny Granger, Dahntay Jones PF - David West, Tyler Hansbrough, Jeff Pendergraph C - Roy Hibbert, Jeff Foster Mayo was targeted because George Hill will get some minutes at PG and Paul George will also back up some at SF. The starter at SG is definitely up in the air. Of course this depends on that source, and if Mayo is coming. But there's been a lot of smoke the last few days so I think it gets done eventually. Either way, the Pacers are turning themselves into a legitimate contender.
  16. And supposedly they revisited the McBob for Mayo deal and got it done. http://www.hoopsworld.com/indiana-pacers-trade-oj-mayo/
  17. Last rumor I saw had Gordon in the deal. From the Clips perspective though I have to assume they don't want to deal him away. Not nearly as good as more CP3 talk. But I like the Pacers deal for David West. 2 years 20 mil is a very reasonable contract and lets Hansbro come off the bench.
  18. Seeing the Cowboys lose never gets old.
  19. At least the Bears have made it obvious the season is over. This is the last loss anyone has to give a [expletive] over.
  20. Just the worst defense they could be playing right now.
