  1. Tough to predict this one. Was Gallardo's last start an affect of Coors? Was Piniero's a result of Duncan? Does it even matter because the Cubs will just lose anyways? Why do you think I said the "outcome most likely won't benefit the Cubs"? Seriously though, its in Brewtown and Gallardo pitching... it'll be something if the right result occurs.
  2. Cardinals @ Brewers is the only other game tonight that really matters currently. And the outcome most likely won't provide a direct benefit for the Cubs (for the time being, anywho). Piniero 2-2, 4.50 vs Gallardo 4-2, 4.20
  3. Welp, that pretty much tells me all I need to know about tonight's outcome (= bad for the Cubbies; not to mention he's a southpaw). I can't seem to get the Cubs to follow my wishes when I beg for a win, so time to try the reverse psychology. LOSE CUBS! Lose badly. Lose so badly that the crowd boos you all night from the 7th inning stretch on.
  4. Records in August for each of the 3; - StL 6-7 [5 straight Ls to open the month] - MIL 4-8 [has suffered a 2-game L streak, in the midst of another 2-game L streak, and lost 4 straight about a week ago] - CHC 4-9 [have been through a 2-game L streak, on a current 3-game L streak, and went 0-4 in a 4 game stretch as well] MIL 62-57 -- CHC 60-58 1.5 StL 56-60 4.5 All of a sudden, that series with the Cards this weekend looks HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE; as does, basically, every game from here on out.
  5. That and Matty Murt's just missed drive 2 batters earlier. "Just missed" as in mis-hit it barely, got underneath a bit too much. This team's overall lack of power is sickening. (and yes, I know that 3 of the 4 runs came on solo HRs)
  6. 3 more feet, peeps. 3 more feet (& 3 more innings of winning baseball by StL) from being 0.5 GB again. ARGH!!! ](*,)
  7. I was like everyone else, I was hoping beyond hope that Fontenot's drive would at the very least settle into the bucket, if not further out. And then watching it fall into Hopper's glove. Damn. That sucked ultra hardcore.
  8. And now we'll watch the Turdinals implode since we couldn't win. Calling it now... Brewers win 9-8 in 9 or 10.
  9. No offense against Ronnie, but sure hope this game doesn't go more than 10 innings.... (and the Cubs win!).
  10. Welp, any more magic in the 9th?? (and no, not for the Reds)
  11. What is Ward's career numbers vs Weathers?? Whatever it is, improve on it here, Darryle!!!!!!
  12. Bases loaded, still just 1 down, Wise up in the bullpen. Ecks flys out, another in though 8-3, and the idiot Wells out at 3rd after the throw to the plate was late.
  13. Kip Wells with the 2-RBI single [2nd hit tonight] down the RF line. Still just 1 down in the T5.
  14. 5-3 Cards now, still in the T5... just 1 out
  15. I honestly think the Cards may win this division. Call it pessimism for the current streak of ultimate suckitude that the Cubs are in, but I have to sorrowfully agree. And I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!
  16. Cards just went up 4-3 vs Brewers in Top 5... (for that little ray of sunshine)
  17. Triple play time, let's go!!! Oh, right..... x a bazigibimillion
  18. Glad football season is starting up real soon... cause I'm gonna need something to ease the pain of watching the Cubs (& Brewers) implode completely and then watch the Cardinals win this pathetic division.
  19. Winning is great fun, Cubs. Try it, you might like it!! Seriously though, team... win the next 3 series (vs Reds/vs StL/and @ SF); or else. :-# And seeing as I'll be on vacation for all the following 3 series (@ ARI/vs MIL/and vs HOU), winning those as well would be really neat; especially considering that the middle one is vs your most likely competition for the NL Central crown, the Brewers(!!!); not to mention its the last 3 games you play between yourselves for the rest of the regular season. Wouldn't it be nice, Cubs, to be playing well and winning, plus have the NL Central lead, when AS returns (+ September callups)?? Happy thoughts!!
  20. Answer: The Brewers suck in any city not called "Milwaukee." and "Houston." Fixed. (Actually, Brewers suck in Houston too... until the L-astros bullpen comes in and blows leads or ties)
  21. At least Harrikala's a righty, so it won't be a triple whammy; that being he's (1) older, (2) "inexperienced" and unfamiliar to the Cubs hitters, & (3) a [soft-tossing] LHP.
  22. This has "Cubs got pwned" written all over it, by about 5-5:30p CST this evening. Hate to say and think that, but its got all the makings.
  23. I am l.m.a.o right now. Ony way to stay sane after the last 45 mins or so.
