  1. I think its stupid (just because it came from LaRussa), but considering what Kendall is doing currently and in his career vs Looper, I wish Lou had made out the lineup so that Hill was hitting 8th and Kendall 9th. So, even if there are 2 outs, if Kendall reaches, it flips the lineup back over and gives the top of the order chance(s) to drive him in, instead of the pitcher coming up next and making a weak out - to possibly end a great scoring chance and/or change the game's complexion.
  2. Len: "Pitchers dominating early on today." NO Len, the ump's floating Kzone is dominating early on today. This ump is more worthless/clueless than the ones we had for most the previous Reds' series.
  3. I realize he's only 1-9 vs Looper, in his career, but sitting a guy who went 5 for 5 the night previous?? Hmmm... sure hope this doesn't come back to bite Lou like pulling Lilly an inning (or 2) too early on Wednesday night. EDIT: And you replace with Fontenot, who's not exactly ripping it up currently, and is 0-3 vs Looper. :-k
  4. According to Yahoo; STL Cards: D. Eckstein ss R. Ludwick lf A. Pujols 1b J. Encarnacion rf S. Rolen 3b J. Edmonds Y. Molina c B. Looper p B. Ryan 2b CHI Cubs: Theriot, ss Jones, cf Lee, 1b Ramirez, 3b Ward, rf Murton, lf Fontenot, 2b Kendall, c Hill, p
  5. Wasn't it just a few short weeks ago that we were about where we are now (--/0.5/1.0/1.5GB of MIL) and the Cards were 10.5+ back?? *GULP!* MIL 62-59 -- CHC 61-59 0.5 StL 58-60 2.5 HOU 54-67 8.0 (assuming LAD holds on and beats HOU tonight) 2 games under the Equator and you're only 2.5 GB of the division leaders. NL Central = udder crap. *pukes* Hate to admit it, but Houston's not out of it. Should be, but they're not - if they find a hot streak somewhere... (we do play them like 6-7 more times this year yet).
  6. Based on a combination of these numbers and yesterday's game, here's for a starting lineup of; Theriot, SS Jones, CF Lee, 1B (although, with the slump he's in, he should be lower) ARam, 3B Kendall, C DeRosa, 2B Murton, LF Fox, RF Hill, P
  7. I am so mad I stopped the DVR last night like, 5 minutes before they showed McGiggly! Am I the only one here who thinks those boobs look totally fake? Give me a girl who looks like that and I don't care. QFT.
  8. Why do I get this disturbing feeling the Cubs will pull a "fake rally" in September after AS comes back+callups?? They'll be in 2nd/3rd place, but not REAL far back of the Cards, to start the rest of the season on Labor Day, and will make a large push in the middle of the month+some of 3rd week, but will choke at the end and we'll lose the division (and playoff berth) by a game or 2. Totally the Cubs MO, and could totally see it happening.
  9. Yep. They continue to scare the hell out of me We HAVE to take 2/3 from them this weekend. a sweep would, obviously, be ideal. Let's hope for 3/4 instead. Yeah, about that.... iIZ SO SMARTTT Doesn't matter at this point, we should be hoping for a 2/2 split, seeing as how if either a 3/4 or sweep occurs, the Cubs will be on the wrong end of it.
  10. I hate that we continually allow "spoilers" to do what they're trying to do!! And if this really does coincide with AS's injury... sad. But it shouldn't, [as a whole] this lineup is just plain terrible, even when AS is in it.
  11. I hate the NL Central. Only because it sucks so bad were the Cubs even in this race, instead of being done before May, they drug us out until September and that makes it much worse than knowing right from the start of the season (basically) that you're not gonna be a threat. Time to start warming up for CFB and the NFL......
  12. I disrespect the Cardinals on principal, but this division is theirs for the taking and I wouldn't begrudge them one bit for winning it. The Brew-Cubs are totally gift-wrapping it for them to win, and win easily.
  13. Conine jumped off the bag!!!!!!!!! geezus........ I am so not even gonna pay attention this weekend... when the Cubs will fall to 3rd place behind the Cardinals (1) and Brewers (2).
  14. The Riot pulls a "Fontenot" and hits one to the LF wall, where it falls into Ellison's glove at the Ivy.
  15. Jones starts the fake rally. (and he is on 1st, with 1 out, as I wrote out incorrectly)
  16. Well damn Matt, nothing like ruining right out of the gates. Butthead.
  17. Ok, here it goes......... Murton - BB Jones - FC ground out, Murt to 2nd - 1 out Cedeno - IF hit, Murt on 3rd Theriot - flys out, Murt scores - 2 out; 11-10 Kendall - singles, Jones on 2nd Lee - Ks swinging; end of game
  18. Absolutely no "on the black" stuff for Wendelstedt tonight. [expletive]
  19. Reds get 1 or 2 off Wood in the top 9, then we get a fake rally going in the bot 9, but end up losing by a run or 2. Final prediction for this game.
  20. Remember how "good" the Cubs offense is?
  21. Seriously, that's 2 games in a row now that big shots to RF, late in the game, died on the track. Screw you, WF-BB Gods.
  22. If this game was still tied, that "sweeping" over-the-shoulder basket catch of Griffey's foul popup would have been a "game saver" type of play. Alas..........
