  1. Is the general consensus among experts that Casher doesn't project well as a starter?
  2. Before the economic crunch, the only justification to sign with the Yankees was money. Winning, history, great fans... nope, only money.
  3. Truffle, what in the world is the origin of your amazing sig pic?
  4. I don't think anyone thinks he'll be as good as last year, but can he come close? If he kept his ERA around 4 and his peripherals decent, I'd be pretty happy. To me, he is the most interesting question mark on the team.
  5. if aparicio doesn't care then why should anyone else? Of course he cares. But what's he gonna say? "Hey, I don't want to you to un-retire my number," "I think the Sox are disrespecting me by un-retiring my number," or something along those lines would be my first guess. Are you naive enough to believe that they did not talk about it and agree to their statement beforehand? Retiring a players # is the highest honor a team can bestow on a retired player, ergo the biggest slight to take it away...Luis has to be hurt and dissapointed. In SOME way the Sox made it worth his while to pretend otherwise. Actually Luis told me he's cool with it.
  6. Damon is a huge injury and defensive liability at this point. And Granderson is pretty much a platoon CF at this point in his career. So you take the good with the flaws. damon's issues are much bigger than granderson not being able to hit lefties Maybe, maybe not, but for one year I would tolerate Damon's issues, especially considering that got a really solid deal for Granderson. Well, thats a pretty poor decision. Not being able to hit lefties well isn't the absolute end of the world.
  7. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/119/255427516_3e37f2cace.jpg?v=0 That is a really bad outfield.
  8. I'm not sure Scott Rolen gets to have a "when" instead of an "if."
  9. I don't get it. the big spoon. Oh, Bert and Ernie. Got it.
  10. I don't get it.
  11. Ok, that's less believable than the Bradley ad. It's even got a Tribune logo up top when it's clearly not a Tribune story. And that quote simply doesn't sound like Z. I obviously don't have a problem with it, but this is all kinds of bull.
  12. Even for a second TJS? I've heard many times that a second TJS comes with a lower success rate than the initial TJS. I think there's a reason you're the only one harping on injuries. TJS simply doesn't mean much to a hitter long-term, it really shouldn't be a problem.
  13. I'm pretty sure it's real and not a ripoff of something else. http://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Roy-Halladay-Writes-Thank-You-Letter-to-City-of-Toronto1.jpg
  14. The Cubs were pursuing him?
  15. Any lineup that starts with Soriano is not a good lineup. The 2008 Cubs had a pretty damn good lineup.
  16. Is it? They're spending a lot of money on players that offer no help to a team like them.
  17. What the hell has been going on with him? Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News thinks the Yankees may target free agent Mark DeRosa to fill their vacancy in left field. ESPN's Buster Olney had a similar idea last week, and that was before the Yanks got rid of Melky Cabrera. DeRosa, 34, hit .250/.319/.433 with 23 homers, 23 doubles and 78 RBI this past season. His ability to play third base would help Alex Rodriguez gain extra rest or find time at DH and he will come with a more reasonable price tag than Matt Holliday or Jason Bay. Source: Mark Feinsand on Twitter Related: Yankees There has been some speculation about any number of teams, including the Cubs. I'm curious as to where he ends up.
  18. Maybe a prospect? The difference between Escobar and Theriot is that the former is quite good. There's no "maybe" involved with the prospect, and it better be a good one.
  19. I know i said that, i wouldn't say he has way more though. Pie hasn't exactly showed great potential to this point. Depends on what he does next year. Check out Pie's second half stats from last year. I did, so because he had one pretty good month, we call him a high upside player? Take that august away and what do you have. Sorry, not about to overhype Pie because he got hot one month. Are you going to say the same about Ronny cedeno's april month. There's also his entire body of work in the minor leagues. And use question marks. Begging you.
  20. So you're basing all this on assumptions? Everett is easily the right choice. Rolen is awesome. You seem as if you just wanted to be outraged and assumed everyone here would hate ESPN enough to tear apart the list with you. It's a good list.

  22. I can't imagine that we don't end up with Capps when those are his alternatives.
  23. Ok, is it really that bad for ESPN? Everett is probably the right choice, Rolen is excellent, and the other two are quite good.
  24. Having finished Dexter Season 4 about 10 minutes ago now, I'm even more pissed about what happened earlier in this thread. Carlos Zambrano, whoo.
