  1. might want to read all of my posts and not skim ... I have said I believe twice in this thread now he's made some mistakes and people can criticize those but to call him one of the worst managers or a bad manager when we are 16 games above .500 is just plain idiotic. Dusty Baker had us 16 games above .500, so why is it idiotic?
  2. Marmol's ERA in the last 30 days: 3.94 :?
  3. I feel like you left out the only recent team that might have been as good as this one. 2004 +124
  4. As I said in the game thread, Lou has to be one of the five worst managers in baseball.
  5. absolutely cannot use marmol or wood tomorrow night. The starter tomorrow night is Jason Marquis. Not. Good. I HATE THAT CAMERA MAN I HAT EHIM HE MADE THAT LOOK LONG GONE
  6. Lou is one of the five worst managers in baseball. There, I said it.
  7. I wonder why Marmol's not pitching well. Maybe it's because his ARM IS HANGING BY A THREAD?
  8. Damn it. Wouldn't it be awesome if Marmol throws twenty more pitches or so and the Padres get within one so we have to use Woody too?
  9. Marmol having an extended inning is even more frustrating.
  10. Here comes Marmol again. Come the hell on, Lou. I honestly don't think Dusty would do this.
  11. Here's a game. It's called "count the good pitchers on the Tigers roster." Get past one and I'll give you a toy. at least 3 Justin Verlander __________ __________ Please, elaborate.
  12. Len better be wrong about that. Don't you dare use Marmol for the 9th, Lou. Use Eyre and bring in Woody if he gets into trouble.
  13. At least he didn't have to throw many pitches.
  14. He tried to save his arm and Wuertz pitched like complete garbage. I'm big on saving Marmol, but what's the alternative here? I guess you could go Howry, but he pitched more than an inning yesterday.
  15. I would've loved to see Marmol get the day off but I'm not sure what the alternative was. Wuertz is one case where I think statistics really don't tell the story. The guy cannot be trusted to get the job done.
  16. God, Wuertz is one frustrating pitcher to watch.
  17. That's pretty absurd. Still, please no Marmol here. Use Eyre and Howry to mop this up unless the Padres inch closer.
  18. If you want to pitch like it's 2005, that'd be totally cool, Cotts.
  19. The end times are upon us. But that's okay, given what they say about the Cubs and hell freezing over. Perhaps it takes a hated player such as Edmonds on the Cubs in order to deliver us to the promised land. Somebody get the Bears to give Brett Favre a call. Jim Edmonds hits a walkoff home run to give the Cubs a World Series title. He looks like this as it's leaving: http://coreybrock.mlblogs.com/photos/uncategorized/edmonds_1.jpg Except, you know, wearing a Cubs uniform. And NSBB explodes in a swirling mess of contradictions.
  20. Nice start to the inning by Cotts. Why would Eyre not be the go to guy against lefties? And why is Cotts still in against a righty?
  21. I know wins for a pitcher don't matter, but I really want Z to start the ASG. The more wins he has, the better his chances.
  22. Either he is not picking the right pitches to hit, or there is something different about his swing. Either way, 11 GIDP is disconcerning. Maybe for the time being, maybe switch out ARam and Lee, ARam 3rd, and Lee 4th. Eh, I don't think that'll really make a difference.
