  1. The cancer is completely unrelated to how hilarious the original post was. I mean, I'm sympathetic, but that's just an enormous copout.
  2. The cry of misogyny is really annoying. This board has been more than open to pretty much everyone so long as they make valuable posts.
  3. How so? All indications were the Indians wanted a potential impact bat, who could possibly play for the big club as early as this season. Vitters isn't that. LaPorta's that close? And I did mean to type Vitters, Veal, and Gallagher. Whoops.
  4. Vitters and Veal absolutely would've topped this offer.
  5. I'd really like to hear the nature of the things that Cubs players are doing that is so repulsive. I wouldn't expect names, but can't you at least clue us in on what it is you're talking about exactly?
  6. The thing is, just about everyone on this team strikes me as very likable. Geo, Lee, DeRosa, Eyre, Soriano, Theriot, Fontenot, Woody, just to name a few... they all seem like pretty awesome people. That's not to say people not mentioned don't seem cool, it's just hard to gauge someone like Ramirez, who never opens his mouth.
  7. I didn't think major leaguers could be PTBNL... They can't be playing in the same league that they would be sent to. Since the trade is with Cleveland, everyone on the Milwaukee roster is available as a PTBNL. At least that's my understanding. And if the PTBNL is in fact Hardy, then lol Brewers. I'll be honest, I had no clue Hardy was even having a decent year. He's been awesome. If he's a part of this trade, that's going to really Milwaukee's offense.
  8. Let's not lose sight of the fact that Joe Blanton has been terrible this year. I don't want him one bit.
  9. Z Harden Lilly Dempster Hill Whoa whoa whoa.
  10. Tim Hudson would be a really nice way to respond to the CC Sabathia deal. Wait, this guy doesn't think Hudson is a 1-2 starter? Seriously?
  11. It must be fun to live in the world where we still don't view the Cards as a threat.
  12. It must be fun to live in the world where we still don't view the Cards as a threat.
  13. We've cursed Aaron Miles quite a lot this year. It would seem appropriate that he ends the game (either for good or bad).
  14. It's pretty impossible to imagine a scenario where the Cubs win this one.
  15. Crap. Please get out of this, Kerry. Please please please.
  16. Regardless of whether Chipper is going to the DL, I can't imagine he won't take the opportunity to rest up.
  17. I love Cardinals fans. They're ever so humble. I guess that's why they're TBFIB. I know I've heard a joke somewhere about the best fan to get a Cardinals fan is one with an imprint of a hand on the backside.
  18. Without Ramirez and Lofton I don't think the 2003 Cubs even would have made the playoffs.
  19. I think Wood is a lock.
  20. maybe. what do you mean by "as talked about"? generally speaking, this is one of the few times i would be more inclined to say yes, i'd do it (depending on what you're talking about). the Cubs have a closing window and are quite possibly a front-line starter away from being head and shoulders above everyone else. I meant the Cedeno, Gallagher, 2 top prospects suggestion by Levine. Absolutely would do the deal. So, who wants to photoshop some pictures of CC as a Cub?
  21. This is almost certainly going to be a very good year to watch the All Star Game as a Cubs fan. In my estimation, we have a minimum of five All Stars. Soto, Fukudome, and Soriano are locks considering they're going to be starting. I'd consider Woody a lock. One of Ryan Dempster or Carlos Zambrano will make it. Aramis has a shot, but I think his slump and then time off will cost him. However, that leaves us with seven realistic All Star candidates... Woody Z Dempster Soriano Soto Fukudome Aramis I'm guessing we end up with five, with Aramis and Dempster being the odd men out. It wouldn't be shocking to see six. It would be very shocking to see seven.
  22. So, I think we're looking at five All Stars in all likelyhood... Soto Fukudome Soriano Woody One of Z/Dempster... possibly both, I supose. I think Rammy was a lock before slumping the past week and then missing time. I don't see him making it anymore.
