Paxton? Oh, I thought he was a starter. I know nothing of this team, apparently. He has been. I just said that because he was listed as a possible target in the Pomeranz deal - throw him in pen for the rest of this year and then try to fix him as a starter. Cishek is also a possibility or Wilhelmsen. Lefties are Montgomery, Nuno, or LeBlanc.

he has kinda been crappy this year but it would be fun I can't think of any of their relievers right now. Who would a bullpen guy be? Paxton?

I didn't respond to your post but to the guy who posted his FIP as if that showed what an idiotic statement Sharma made. I don't know or especially care about Sharma or his opinions, honestly, so it doesn't bug me. I think if you wanted to pull up a weak contact rate you could make an argument. But pointing out FIP just shows that he benefits from his defense.

Which is exactly Sharma's point . . . I have no idea why this bothers people. The Cubs defense is really good. It helps the pitchers. What? How is that exactly Sharma's point? It's literally the opposite. It proves Sharma's "point" to be silly. How? Sharma says he is made better by the defense. His FIP exhibits that relative to his ERA. Pretty simple stuff. He even says he is good pitcher - seems fair for that FIP.

They should tell him to beat that info into Olney also. Actually, Olney followed it up with......I get it, Schwarber is a lefty, middle of the order bat, that's 30/100 year in, year out. Can't trade that for a relief pitcher. You think there is a chance Schwarber catches and Conteras plays outfield?

It looked like Montero missed his foot and I don't think it was so obvious his foot didn't get to the plate before the tag. Obviously it didn't since there was no appeal.

I still think that's too much. Vogelbach is fine, but giving up him plus a top 30 prospect (based on midseason prospect rankings) AND another top 100 guy (based on preseason rankings) is too much for a guy that has never pitched more than 63 innings in a season since becoming a full time reliever. He has value and fills a glaring need but you can take a risk in filling his 60 innings with internal options, lesser trades or scrap heap relievers. I said it was too much but I don't think Vogelbach is any good outside of the AL. Now, if they can confirm that the Indians aren't including Frazier or Zimmer then that changes the game. Zimmer and Frazier vs Torres and Happ is basically a wash. Do you guys have an opinion on how much Miller tilts the WS odds for the Cubs? 5%? 10%?
