  1. So, Indiana's not a good team because they lost to ISU? Not gonna earn respect by putting down every other team in the country. There was really no reason to bring up IU. And if you think IU isn't that good, then what does that make Illinois, who was picked behind them, and not unreasonably so? BTW, Memphis is twice as good as any team Illinois has played all season. At least Illinois beat the mediocre teams they played - unlike IU.
  2. Second.. NONONONONONONONONO chad johnson is amazing, and everytime they tone him down, theyre making a mistake If it means getting rid of the bad dances and copy cats and well as the clown acts like TO and Horn has demonstrated over the past few years, I can live w/out Johnson. Although, I enjoy his. simple solution - don't show it on tv. clearly fans want to see it. what's the harm?
  3. that was a ridiculous call - 15 yards for putting your hand in the air? Thank goodness the NFL doesn't have such absurdly limiting rules. ND is very luck to not be down three or four touchdowns.
  4. now Wisconsin gets screwed.
  5. nice double-entendre! well, he's better than macias.
  6. that would rid us of UCLA too!! Two for one!
  7. you could get the same production from murton so why bring grissom into the equation (even if Grissom can still do it)?
  8. everyone said the Big 10 was bad in basketball last year, yet they had 3 teams in the Elite 8. I will agree with you guys about football though, the Big 10 is definitely not as good as conferences such as the SEC, ACC, Big 12, and maybe even the Pac 10. the ACC? Did you not just watch this game? Who is good in the ACC? To me, the Big 12 looks to be pretty dominant. Everyone else looks about the same. I don't see any convincing argument that the SEC, ACC or Pac 10 (definitely not) is stronger than the Big 10.
  9. precisely why this is a bad decision. regardless of how he looks in ST, he is a player we don't want on the team.
  10. there is really no argument about it to me, there needs to be a playoff. all these irrelevant bowl games are further proof. I think big ten teams have historically been tailored to play in cold windy conditions. playing speedy southern teams in warm climates has not served them well recently. basketball-wise, the big ten has done pretty well in the tournaments, why do you say they are overrated? Top-heavy perhaps.
  11. small frame, violent motion, many many innings pitched. he's also had some elbow problems in recent years. Ultimately the A's saw him as replaceable but I think they had some concerns about his health as well. Didn't he struggle down the stretch this year?
  12. Not even remotely surprised. The Big 10 is consistently overrated - in football and basketball. That's why ND should join - they'd lead the league in both categories! I'm not sure bowl records are always a great indication of league strength.
  13. And Atlanta fleeced Beane on the Hudson deal. Very true. Herr Beane has made a few mistakes, that's for sure. Perhaps we should wait more than one season to judge these deals? Hudson is a huge injury risk.
  14. Its a shame LSU never gets to the right bowl game. That loss to UT is inexplicable though. Miami is so overrated - they aren't even on the same level as LSU tonight.
  15. You are probably correct but I don't generall agree with your statement. Carl Lewis would not have been fast in football terms (well exceptionally fast) because he accelerated through 100 meters - further than a football player ever runs. Hester may be quicker than most olympic sprinters.
  16. I'm not convinced Raw - the Illini played a pretty easy schedule. I think to 16 is probably still a better estimate. I do think Weber is the best coach in the conference though. If he can recruit at all, illinois will be tough for years to come.
  17. They should take out Kansas again this year. :D kansas won't be there to be beaten. we'll see about the illini 1/5. they seem to be getting better though.
  18. Does Missouri still have a team?
  19. I don't see how to do that.
  20. I'm so frustrated right now that I am deleting old threads. I saw one from when the cubs swept the rockies in 2004 - the last time I felt optimistic about this team. sigh.
  21. we should invite goony into this forum - it just isn't the same without him.
  22. no more.
  23. he'll get to play between nomar's injury and itzturis's return. he'll outproduce nomar during that time too.
