  1. I think greg maddux might take exception to your comments. Jones's baserunning is simply incomprehensible and inexcusable. It says "I don't care." THREE TIMES ITS HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. How far am I from you? Probably closer than to Raisin, huh? We'll have to get together for a game like we've been planning. Should be a lot more doable once we get moved back out here.
  3. I guess if Dusty won't say anything or pull him or anything, maybe carlos should. or kerry. someone has to be in charge of this team.
  4. Tavares dropped two routine flyballs in that 5 run inning. inexplicably, one was ruled a hit.
  5. seriously, that didn't really happen, did it? its unfathomable.
  6. you have got to be friggin' kidding me!?!?!?!? With a runner on third he gets doubled off second?
  7. he just pulled a single to right on a wandy rodriguez fastball right down the middle. the giants announcers excuses for bonds are outstanding!
  8. the giants should just hit bonds leadoff since he is only good for obp and that would maximize his abs.
  9. well, I-5 is 600 miles of boring between me and you Raisin, but its really pretty up here. Don't worry, we'll try and save you some water!
  10. warning track power.
  11. nevermind - internet works just fine here! Wow, this is a really pretty city. Mount Shasta looks like the lonely mountain from the Hobbit.
  12. at least you get to face him in NSBB!
  13. should have internet at night but I think y'all know the rules well enough to get by without me for a few days.
  14. the more you make him run, the sooner he will be gone? I'd walk him just to make him run the bases. I think McGwire is an even better comparison than Sosa.
  15. Dusty, like Bonds, I think is one of Joe Morgan's favorites, meaning he won't say a single disparaging word about him. Well, he wasn't that kind to him - that was the telling thing.
  16. I don't understand the question. I don't think very many analysts will call for dusty's head on national tv. that's why I think there is significance to reading between the lines. imo, Hendry doesn't want to fire him but he is going to get forced into it.
  17. while I recognize cleanup has been a big problem, r+rbi-hr is a terrible stat.
  18. typically says can't blame dusty - he at least acknowledged dusty has been less than stellar in the past - which to me is the real justification to can him.
  19. just what a team that can't field 8 decent hitters needs - a 9th spot. So who DHs?
  20. nice to hear he is hitting a few out. I like the way he is developing.
  21. let me ask this, is the general mood of the average cub fan in chicago as dire as the mood on this forum?
  22. exactly - this team has too many role players and not enough great players.
  23. A player? Not at all. Every player? Yes. Can you cite any examples. I'd really like to know if there is hope. sammy sosa. to me cedeno seems able to identify strikes most of the time so I'm not as worried. plate discipline isn't about taking walks, its about identifying pitches to hit.
  24. Maybe its because walkers slump brought him from grotesquely high numbers to near his career norms? Can you really not see the difference between a player who was red hot and is now slumping and player that has never been productive in their career?
