  1. yea, I agree. But its not impossible.
  2. how many walks?
  3. did hill kill your sister or something? Why the hatred? Why not give him a chance to develop? Because I highly doubt he'll ever be better than a thinner Glendon Rusch as a starter. I'd happily see him get a shot as a relief thrower...I think he'd find great success there. But as long as he's trotted as a starter...man, it's painful. maybe that would be a good place for him to start his career. his minor league numbers suggest if he can harness his control, he will be a successful major leaguer. A lot of great major league pitchers have started poorly in their first year. At this point, the Cubs aren't going to win the world series, so why not find out if Hill can become a useful major leaguer. He does nothing for the organization starting at AAA.
  4. did hill kill your sister or something? Why the hatred? Why not give him a chance to develop? Hill's birthdate: 3/11/80. so you hate him for being a pisces?
  5. But the great hitters do it better than the bad hitters. therefore its something to strive for - if you can't recognize pitches, you will not be a major league hitter. Have you ever hit in the major leagues? Just because something is difficult does not mean its not the right approach or goal. and btw, the condescending tone adds nothing to your arguments.

  7. seriously, throw womack in CF. Or get craig wilson for RF and move jones to CF. Pierre is worthless.
  8. do you have a problem if he rolls an outside pitch right back to the pitcher for an easy 1-6-3 DP? I agree if he hits it hard, I have no complaint.
  9. Really? Sometime go look up batting averages and slugging percentages on 2-0 and 3-1 counts. I'm sure you can supply a real fascinating stat for me. I realize when the count is in your favor you'll have better results, but can you supply some stats for me when the hitter is consistently facing 1-2 and 0-2 counts, as well? I'm not looking up anything for you. Basically you are just changing the subject. As far as 1-2 and 0-2 counts, I agree hitters hit worse. All the more reason to not swing and miss at first pitches out of the zone. You seem to be missing the point which is, quite simply, only swing at pitches you can hit hard. rolling over on a first pitch is worthless. so is rolling over on a 7th pitch but at least you made the pitcher work and saw some pitches that may benefit you in your next at bat.
  10. dfa. pierre has the worst swing I have ever seen.

  12. quite simply - only swing at pitches you can hit hard.
  13. if its where you want it, then you should hit it hard. virtually all of the great hitters in baseball take a lot of pitches - why? because pitchers often don't throw hittable pitches on the first pitch.
  14. they also seem to be acting like they just heard of HGH today. The problem with HGH is that the body produces it naturally and at different levels in different people and at different levels at different times of day. Testing for it is pretty complicated. artificially produced HGH (i.e. the HGH that is prescribed) can be detected independently from natural HGH due to different modifications added to the amino acids during the production process. Ah, I was hoping you would chime in. so why can't they test for it?
  15. yea, I'm with you banedon - I watched it for the highlights and they have cut those way back to show crappy analysis.

  17. \ had you pmed me, I would have made the move for you.
  18. Are you going to remove him, or do you know if the team is regularly checked? I sent him a message - it'll be changed. I removed him from tonight's lineup

  20. to be fair, we're talking about mike wood and he is making his first start this week. still not allowed.
  21. not being an [expletive] - this is a self patrolled league.
  22. awesome. he is fun to watch.
  23. meh, probably not as big a deal as the way I reacted, but that sucks that he lost it on that stupid hit.
  24. Should have been pulled as soon as the no-no was over. Another stupid call by Dusty. You have got to be kidding me. I want to see anyone anywhere try and pull Z out of the game right there. Bazooka Carlos would have been literal. So let me get this straight. Its ok to leave him in with 115 and a no, no but you should take him out 10 pitches later after he loses it just because it was a blowout? Thats silly logic. how is it silly? you give him the chance for the no hitter but once he gives up a hit there is no point in him being out there. pretty simple logic.
