  1. I maybe skeptic but I think Dempster will end up on the disabled list instead of Jones being traded.
  2. More than likely nobody wants are junk, hendry must be begging teams to take Cesar and Jacque.
  3. Q# 1) would Billy Beane do as well under the pressures of a top 5 payroll? Q# 2) Will Beane ever get a world series win or will his cycle of develop and deal just continue on for all of eternity.
  4. except that wasn't a curveball.
  5. murton has been straight up terrible for a corner of'er this year. he has a whole 8 rbi's and 1 hr. thats what I call not performing like a corner man. Plus his numbers at home are down right abysmal. He just looks lost right now.
  6. I forgot about Floyd but he is probably good for no more than 110 games a year anyways at this point.
  7. Soriano LF Pie Cf Lee 1b Ramirez 3b DeRosa RF Barret C Fontenot 2b Theriot ss pitcher
  8. How about bringing Marquis in out of the pen? Sure he was bad yesterday but he couldn't have been much worse than dempster. Plus its not like he would have been too tierd to do so. at anyrate most frustrating game of the year, at least for me. I should probably learn how to spell rediculous before i start a thread with it. ](*,)
  9. our pen pitches great for six or so innings and then Lou brings dempster into the eighth inning looking for a two inning save? and after giving up 2 runs he still allows him to pitch to jones? just plain stupid. and then of course barret cant stop the ball, again. this game was a must win because our bullpen will be [expletive] for the next week. I knew this would happen after we couldn't score with the bases loaded. arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
  10. I'm a little disapointed Lou didn't come out of the dugout after the shot Fontenot took. Not because I wanted to see him kick his hat or anything but at that point u have to stick up for your player.
  11. stats aside, pie is bringing alot of energy to this team. I 've liked what I've seen from him this go around.
  12. it makes sense. Often times if a pitcher comes up with leg issues he is also hurting some where else and the secondary injury is almost always directly caused by compensating for the initially injury. This explains guzmans arm pain and subsequent leg cramps. sure does suck though. I still like him as a starter better but not if he cant take it.
  13. gallagher actually has two curves one is a floater and one is a bender there was a really good article on him last year. Couldve been baseball america or Cubs.com
  14. Fox reminds me of Brandon Sing. Both guys put up some big power numbers, while repeating levels, without having a true position in the field.
  15. Gathright grounds out an awful lot especially for a guy with supposedly blazing speed. He needs to find a way to turn those into hits whether its by bunting or a new approach because if he cant hit for power he darn better be able to hit for a high average. He needs to cut down on the K's as well. Otherwise he'll be a utility guy a la willie harris.
  16. Well Friday, and Cozart look good too from an isolated power standpoint. But i like Horton's plate discipline better. Also I went by 05-06's stats because I cant find a site with the 07 stats. I'd love to know about the highschool guys and defensive abilities.
  17. looking at the college guys I like Josh Horton the best. Seemingly emerging power and a line of .395 .455 .542 997 I haven't yet found stats on the highschool guys
  18. Can anyone tell me who the best shortstop in the draft is? I don't follow college baseball that much and know nothing about High School prospects. So who is the best projectable shortstop to take with a second round or sandwich pick? It seems obvious to me that we are going to take a ss or two in this draft because it is an organizational black hole.
  19. lots of players do it. its no different than a shortstop faking a runner on his way past second even though the ball is in the outfield. That stuff happens all the time. I am a big Arod critic but the slapping incident is the only thing he did wrong.
  20. the problem with trading for top prospects is that you have to develop them. In case you haven't noticed we can't really do that either.
  21. Its bad Hendry really needs to go. This team is dying for some sort of shake up and he is still playing the waiting game. But what I really hate is that he's playing moneyball -- in that the highest paid continue to play despite how badly. Hell the Mariners already want to DFA Weaver they owe him more money than izturis, jones, and I believe howry and eyre. Bring up Pie trade jones Floyd/Murton platoon Trade Eyre Marshall to the pen Guzman or marmol to start trade izturis and a minor league pitcher for a ss prospect w power and defense and let him play.
  22. he hasn't been a pitcher for all that long now. he used to be a catcher/ outfielder. I still like him as a starter better than relief he has good stuff and unlike most pitchers he only has had a handful of years on the mound. He is just coming into his own.
  23. veal is doing everything he said he was going to try to limit. He's been way too wild and is throwing way too many pitches. A lot of his outings are in 3, 4, 5 innings instead of 5, 6, 7 innings. And he is givving up a lot of homers. He's not going to get to the show averageing 4.8 innings per start. so lets hope he turns it around
