1st pitch swinging. unbelievable. you would think that these guys would have learned something in the last couple weeks. lou needs to step up and show that he wont stand for this crap. next time someone does this he should take them out immediately.
and derek lee's 3rd gidp in consecutive days. Ouch. Also when a the opposing pitcher walks two straight it would be nice if the next guy up, DeRosa, could've seen more than two pitches.
I dont think we'll regret this deal. Zambrano is a great pitcher but lacks focus at times. When he learns how channel his emotions, instead of jumping off the mound like an idiot every time he strikes someone out, he will become a true ace. right now however, he looks like a mental midget.
.... emerges like a bear from hibernation, mullet flowing, arm: freshly inked to deliver a squeeze bunt in the clutch. He's back, the one and only Hank White. Seriously though, its nice to see him contribute.
Dont forget to take into consideration his defense. He has a cannon for an arm and is a very good defender. And I think he is still young and it is encouraging that he has hit for a pretty good average at each level. I think he can have 20 -25 home run power eventually. What worries me the most is that his stats look alot like Pie's. Lots of k's, low walk totals, and cant hit lefties very well. On the other hand how many guys from last years draft are in double a already? If he stayed at daytona he was probably on his way to posting a .900+ ops And like you said he is just going to turn 22. If he can hit 20-25 hr's and play a stellar defense in center I can live with the k's. But I think he'll eventually start being more patient.
anyone know soto's catcher's era and how about his defensive skills? We all know Piniella loves defensive catchers and based on soto's offensive numbers that is the only excuse I can think of as to why he is not with the big club. What did Soto do when he was with the cubs earlier in the year?
well its not like he saying that much, our farm system is very over-rated. Hunter has already said that he doesn't want to play in chicago because of what happened to dusty and jones.
Cedeno's one pitch at bat today is the very reason why he was in the minors to begin with. don't be fooled by his numbers this year at iowa's hitters haven, look at his numbers in the majors this year and last.
Yeah, Harvey is worthless as a hitter right now. It doesn't seem to matter where he is at he just racks up the K's swingin for the fences. Time to make him a pitcher.
Its not just Lefties but lefties and starters we havent seen before. I'll say it again, either our advance scouting sucks or our players don't know how to prepare for guys they havent seen before.
will we even be able to sign any of these guys with the no new debt edict? I should rephrase that, any of the good guys who will command over a million dollars?
the worst part about that trade is that we were going to get good prospects in return until the Braves traded Betemit who made Izturis expendable. The D Rays then came in a swept away the prospect we were going to get for pitcher, Mark Hendrick?
The move will be Dempster to the DL, because it is the least controversial move for hendry to make. But any trade better involve a relief pitcher coming back. Our pen is running on fumes.
