  1. I guess Brady Quinn isn't gonna workout. Stupid, IMO.
  2. Some other poster was saying for the past week how pax should be fired because he didnt draft roy. And then make some trade he wanted to see made where we lose Deng to get Gasol paxson is the best GM in the city. And Deng > Gasol Angelo is the best GM in Chicago, and it isn't even close. When Paxson builds a team that can make it to the Finals, then I'd say open the debate.
  3. My girl has an unhealthy crush on Michael Barrett.
  4. Loved the little jab at Dusty Baker in the article. 8-)
  5. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/cs-070222bears,1,6045629.story?coll=cs-home-headlines With his playoff performance, maybe we can get a 2nd rounder for Jones. Doubtful. By leaking this info, they have lost the upper hand in bargaining.
  6. 3, 4 years down the road is when you make this highsight assessment, and I'd have kept Aldridge before I would've drafted Roy. It's been awhile since I mentioned it, but I REALLY wanted Aldridge. Why? You think Chris Mihm's younger version would help the Bulls? Aldirdge >>>>>>>>>>>>> Mihm
  7. Basically you'd want any and every GM fired. ETA: And you apparently have already decided TT is a wasted pick. Tyrus Thomas is Stromile Smith part II. There are plenty who think the same. Welcome to the board, Mr. Skiles. Your post makes no sense  Maybe if TT had an offensive game he would get more minutes, but if you have Thomas and Wallace in the game toghether the rest of the guys are playing 3 on 5 offensively.
  8. Roll to a 20-point loss against the Sixers last night. A top 3 pick is not likely, a top 10 pick is, and this is a draft to have it. Good to hear they lost last night. Let's hope Paxon realizes this team needs scoring inside. I don't think he does.
  9. 3, 4 years down the road is when you make this highsight assessment, and I'd have kept Aldridge before I would've drafted Roy. Alridge would have made sense for this team as well.
  10. Whether or not you thought Thomas was the player with the highest ceiling is moot. I love to scour the Web for draft information, too, but that doesn't make my opinion of draft talent any more expert. I agree with the draft-for-ceiling-and-not-need policy when you have a high pick. Look at the stories printed in the Memphis papers. West wanted Deng and Gordon. Many thought he could be talked down, especially the Chicago beat writers, but we don't know for certain. So if you could go back right now, would you still draft Thomas..over Roy?
  11. Basically you'd want any and every GM fired. ETA: And you apparently have already decided TT is a wasted pick. Tyrus Thomas is Stromile Smith part II. There are plenty who think the same. Why? Because they are both athletes? Both former Top 5 picks? Both from LSU? I think it's abit TOO EARLY to compare T2 to Swift. Atleast give the kid the benefit of the doubt. The Bulls are no better/no worse then where they were before the deadline, which means they are still a likely one and done in the playoffs. For this...Paxson had better be dang sure he'll get a Top 3 pick courtesy of the Knicks and/or getting Gasol/KG in the offseason, otherwise, this will be a blemish on Pax's resume. The Knicks are starting to roll. A top 3 pick is not likely.
  12. Basically you'd want any and every GM fired. ETA: And you apparently have already decided TT is a wasted pick. Tyrus Thomas is Stromile Smith part II. There are plenty who think the same. Why not let the kid prove whether he's a bust or not, rather than labeling him based on half a season with limited playing time and some scouting reports? I watched him plenty in the college as well, he can jump out of the gym, but what low post moves does he have? His offensive game is as raw as it comes. So even if he does become a decent player down the road, it was still a bad pick because this team is built to win now.

  14. Not a fan of him locking up Hinrich long-term for less than market value? If Tyrus proves to be a wasted pick -- and it's difficult to overstate how early it is to be making that claim -- it would be John's first. He certainly wasn't the only GM or scout to think Tyrus was the best prospect in the '06 draft. And every report out of Memphis had the Grizzles demanding Gordon and Deng for Gasol. Again, no thanks. I didn't join this board till after the draft so I can't point out how much I was against the TT pick. So you will have to trust me. I also read many scouting reports that said Thomas' offensive game was light years away. While the general consensous was that Brandon Roy was the most NBA ready player in the draft, which has proven true. So if we are ready to win now(as inidcated by the Ben Wallace signing) why draft a player that is so far away? Why not grap a player than can help you immediatly? As for Deng & Gordon I never heard both of these. I heard Deng or GOrdon and another player such as Noc and or draft pick.
  15. Had Paxon not wasted his pick on Tyrus THomas, and drafted Brandon Roy, we could have easily packaged Gordon + Noc for Gasol, and not missed a beat with Roy at the 2 guard. And don't even get me started on giving up JR Smith for nothing. John Paxon needs to go.
  16. Screw you Ted Phillips & McCaskeys. :x
  17. Why Ron Turner can't grasp the concept that Grossman could be more effective out of the shotgun, is beyond me. Why won't the lightbulb go off in his head?
  18. Dusty Baker is baseball [expletive]...that being said, he should fit in well at ESPN...next to one-nut Kruk.
  19. Haven't seen him much in the NBA, but I loved his game at Memphis and his numbers are alot better than Thabo's.
  20. riveria takes the chargers LB coaching job, talk about a demotion.
  21. I still think I'd rather have Deng, Gordon, Thomas, Thabo over Careny, Roy, Gasol. Yeah, the latter might be better right now, but in the long run I'd rather have Deng and company. Really? Agree to disagree I guess. I like the balance in my lineup. Inside scoring with Gasol, and a 2 guard that can score in the post as well. Oh, well, what's done is done, but I have little faith in Paxon at this point.
  22. I'd like to see John Paxon take some more heat. How about complety screwing up the 2006 draft. Tyrus Thomas was a bad pick. His offensive game is so far away it isn't funny. He did not fill a need. Before the draft I wanted Brandon Roy who was most NBA ready. Now imagine if the Bulls had Roy, they could easily trade Gordon + Deng for Gasol. How about this lineup: PF Gasol SF Nocioni C Wallace SG Roy PG Hinrich That lineup takes the east, IMO. Then with his 2nd pick in the first round he could have taken Rondey Carney as a SF off the bench. Just a terrible draft. Paxon hasn't made a decent move since the 04 draft. I wish people in Chicago would stop treating him like some kind of god. He looks good(in comparison) because he isn't Krause, but he is a below avg GM. The talent on the court speaks for itself.
  23. WTF! $*$*$*$*#@)#(@)(#@)(#@)! HOW DOES HILL NOT HAVE A GUARANTEED SPOT IN THE ROTATION! THIS ORGANIZATION IS ON DRUGS!
  24. I thought Smardzablalah(sp?) was supposed to get a haircut? :?:
