  1. I really can't give him credit for drafting Mark Prior, after the Twins took Mauer, Prior at 2 was a no brainer. Anyone could have made that call.
  2. I would love for Ronny to win the SS job away from Ceasar NoBat.
  3. I hope Bud realizes the root of all this: Yankees, Red Sox, Mets. Teams like the Cubs are just catching up.
  4. Epstein has been pretty good. Got them a WS ring, and he signed all the available FA's this year that I wanted the Cubs to sign. Hendry is where he deserves. Those bottom tier GMs are pretty bad. I don't know about all that now. Hendry may be bad, but is he worse that Jim Bowden or J.P. Ricciardi? I'd put him somewhere between 15-17 personally. Hendry is bad, very bad. Any monkey can sign players through FA if they have the available funds to do so, and Soriano didn't come cheap either. Whether you think its a fluke or not, I dont know how you judge Hendry without at least mentioning Lee, Barrett and, here's the big one, RAMIREZ. i judge hendry by wins. and in that regard, he's bad. and if you judge him by win per dollar, he's the worst. I agree 100%. He is just lucky he got bailed out by ownership and an increase payroll. Could you imagine how bad this team would be without that increase? They would have had $$$ for Soriono, but that is about it.
  5. I was expecting to see "General Manager" on that list.
  6. I was at training camp a few years back and some borderline WR(crap I can't remember his name) was screwing up in WR drills, and the WR Coach Darly Drake just went off on the guy big time. I mean he really reamed his arse, I was standing like 20 feet away. It was pretty funny to be honest...Edell Shepherd...I think thats who it was.
  7. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/lester_munson/01/22/tank.johnson/index.html?cnn=yes Unfortunatly, this Moran is a Packers fan, I believe. I just find it hilarious that the judge's name is actually Moran. Is he a Cardinals fan too? Probably, that or a Sox's fan.

  9. Seriously. For once, I don't mind the roll-eyes. How many QB's have performed like Rex has with the amount of game experience Rex has? Not many. Hell, look at Drew Brees's first couple of seasons. If you compare, his numbers are right there with any of the greats this early in his career. He may or may not become a great QB (all it will really take is the consistency to turn his clunkers into mediocre games like yesterday), but how anyone could pass judgment on him already, based on what he's shown, is beyond me. To be fair (and trying to stay out of the "is Rex good" debate), RSF said Rex IS not good at football. I don't recall reading anything from him saying Rex WILL NOT be good at football or HAS NO CHANCE at being good at football later. If you make it to the NFL, you "are good" at football.(Quasim Mitchell being the exception). His post was far from anything "rational".
  10. That is a fantastic argument.
  11. At least both of them answered "no". Theisman answered no, but said that's only because he hasn't played in the Super Bowl yet. Sometimes, I wish LT broke Theismans neck, instead of his leg.
  12. The Saints have nothing to be disappointed about. They will be a team to take seriously next year. Not that they shouldn't have been taken seriously this year. They were the team I was most afraid of in the NFC this year. Brees is an awesome QB. If Brees had time he could have done a lot of damage. I'm not sure why the Saints abandoned the running game just to ease the pressure but Peyton knows his team and I'm sure he had a reason. This is the same guy that lost his play calling duties to Jim Fassell.
  13. Parcells is done in the NFL. Or at least he should be. His act is old and no one is buying.
  14. That move is stupid IMO, you screw it up one time, and one time is all it takes, and you are paralyzed for life. It probably won't happen to Bush, because he is so athletic, but what about some younger kid trying to emulate it?
  15. LOL....I love Tom Thayer....BALL
  16. I agree, Manning is pretty bad at times. Although I guess you can't blame him for being able to tackle a streaking Reggie Bush in the open field, he took an awful route to him and really had no shot at him when he got there. I would potentially trade Ogunleye for a mid first rounder and get Landry. Mark Anderson is the cheaper option to fit his role, as much as I love Wally and recognize how he stepped up last week I was thinking the same thing in terms of Ogun. Would the Bears take a cap hit from trading him though?
  17. I hate to jump to conclusions, but is anyone ready to can the Danielle Manning experiment? He has so far to go, even if he does make strides in the offseason, he will still be a below average saftey. So the Bears will be picking either 30-31, how much will it take to trade up to 10-15 to select Laron Landry? Our first rounder in '08 + a 2nd this year? Lets franchise Briggs and trade the farm for Landry. We have to depth to pull it off.
  18. Usually right DE opposite the LT. So it will be Mathis vs. Fred Miller? ugggh, that could get ugly for the Bears, and fast. No, that's Tait. No, he was saying that if Freeney goes against the LT (Tait), then that leaves Fred Miller on the other side against Mathis. Yes. I don't see how Miller could handle Mathis on passing downs, they would have to chip him with a TE or FB
  19. Colston ranks as one of the greatest scouting failures since Kurt Warner and Tom Brady. I love these big WR/TE hybrids that come from small schools. A few years ago I was pleading for the Bears to take Vicent Jackson from Northern Colorado. We saw how good he can be this year.
  20. Usually right DE opposite the LT. So it will be Mathis vs. Fred Miller? ugggh, that could get ugly for the Bears, and fast.
  21. Does Freeney play Left DE or Right DE?
  22. (Pats back in slightly arrogant smugness) Over at ESPN Bears MB, I go under the name of doctazycrazy. In the last couple of days, I decided to make my "predictions" of the Bears/Saints game. Originally, I said the Bears would win 28-14. But after doing some research, and looking at the score of previous Conference Championship, in which a dome team on the road was involved, I averaged out the scores, and my second predictions was 27-10. http://boards.espn.go.com/boards/mb/mb? &tid=444610&tsn=6&rls=Chicago+Bears And I made that post, HOURS before the game even played. But alas, I am not the only Bears fan, who believe the Bears would hold the Saints to below 20 points. A guy by the screenname of noonthirtyjoe, "prediciting 31-10" and was closer them my predictions. Nonetheless, there was atleast TWO Bears fans who believe the Bears would hold the Saints to below 20 points. (Tooting my own horn) BTW, I know it was fortunate that it worked out the way I wanted it to, but....I played on the fact that dome teams on the road in the NFC Championships +rookie head coaches leading teams to the NFC Championship +Saints playing all but 1 game in the last 5 friggin' yrs, in cold weather like the game they just played +Drew Brees being 0-3 lifetime (before Sunday) in his pro career in weather below 40 degrees +SI's Dr. Z picking the Saints to win (we ALL know who Dr. Z is, right fellas? Equals, Bears beating the Saints down. Good call. Since we are patting each other on the back here is what I stated the Bears needed to do to win: In terms of stopping the run game that is exactly what they did. I was a little disspointed in the Tillman/Colston matchup,(Colston can freakin move for a big guy) plus they did a good job of getting Colston down the middle of the field and matched up on our safeties.
  23. Putting 2002 up there is being a little dishonest to yourself. Everyone knows that was a complete waste of a draft. One starter and 2 back ups is a successful draft? Not quite. 2004 will probably go down as the best. 4 Solid starters? 3 pro-bowl apperances. One player who has just been money in the playoffs. (Check Berrian's stats in the Panthers game too) Hell yeah. (I guess I should say 2003 over it, but I expect it to be soooo good that we lose Lance Briggs because of it  ) yeah, 2002 did suck. Although, had Colombo not got hurt, he probably would be are starting RT right now.
