  2. The BoSox didn't sign Drew for his BA, though his SLG% has been just terrible so far this season.
  3. For the All-Overpaid team he could have saved himself 20 minutes by simply typing 2007 Chicago Cubs edit...Jeff beat me to it
  4. Thats a good trade. Andrew Bynum right? Not Freddie, either way I'll take it!
  5. http://www.latimes.com/sports/printedition/la-sp-buss30may30,1,4855718.story?coll=la-headlines-pe-sports hahah Buss got a DUI, probably thinking..."What the hell have I done!"
  6. That trade won't happen in a million years. The Lakers would be the dumbest team in the NBA if they traded him to another Western Conference team. The Lakers would be the dumbest team in the NBA if they don't get the best value for Bryant.
  7. Amare is very difficult to deal this offseason. The Trade-Machine said that trade was good to go
  8. I'm willing to bet that LA won't trade Kobe to another West team. meh, they need to get past the whole "same conference" stigma. It is a good deal for them. Amare is one of the best young big men in the game. Will they suck in 07, no doubt. But that is part of the plan. They need to get in the lottery so they can have a shot at Derrick Rose. How to fix the Lakers 101.
  9. I think the trade that makes the most sense is: Phoenix gets: Kobe LA gets: Amare Raja Bell Marcus Banks(or another throw in) Phoenix has suppsedly been shopping Amare, and a backcourt of Kobe & Nash would be explosive. LA gets a young star in Amare, and a solid 2 Guard in Raja.
  10. This thing is fun http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trademachine 8-)
  11. How would Gordon, Nocioni and a pick work financially, unless they signed both to massive contracts then traded them. Any deal will have to include Deng as well. Look, I think Deng is a great player and future star...but SF is one of the more easier positions to fill in the NBA IMO. KB would solve our problems with size in the backcourt, and he can score in the post.
  12. Soriano12 doesn't read other people's posts methinks You didn't have Julian Wright in the equation 8-)
  13. Losing Deng would hurt, no doubt..but Wallace, Gorden, and Deng for Kobe and Bynum...I would have to do that deal. I expect Julian Wright to be available @ 9. We could draft him to replace Deng(not that I think Wright will be as good as Deng), but PG Hinrich SG Kobe C Bynum SF Noc/Wright PF Tyrus That is looking pretty good..
  14. No doubt the league is dominated by teams that draft well. But that is different than it being dominated by teams with frequent high picks. There are dominant teams that are build through trades, though. Take the current Detroit Pistons, for instance. EDIT: Also, many teams are created via free agency signings. Take the most recent Lakers dynasty, for instance. Shaq had his mind set on signing with the Lakers the moment he entered the NBA. It is very hard rely on FA in the NBA considering the best young players are locked up early by the team that drafted them.
  15. This is really a black and white issue...people are trying to make too much of it. The Cubs are 44 games under .500 since 2004. Hendry has been the GM. If the team doesn't perform the GM should be fired. It really is that simple.
  16. I agree with Jersey, I really don't care for the rule. IMO, it keeps alot of teams from improving themselves. Basically, when you have a lottery pick you better hit a homerun or your team will be bad for a long time.
  17. Isn't being more "selective" kind of the same thing as "patient"?
  18. The Lakers are not going to trade Kobe. I dont understand why all these sportswriters think its a possibility. If they trade Kobe they set that team back big time. I disagree. In the NBA, sometimes you have to get really bad before you can get better. Right now with Kobe they are stuck in limbo. Good enough to make the playoffs each year, but no chance to make it deep in the playoffs, especially the Western conference. They should do this deal, stock up on some lottery picks and go from there.
  19. How do you go from second to third on a grounder right to SS. Speed kills dude
  20. SS Theriot CF Felix Pie 1B Derrek Lee 3B Aramis Ramirez LF Matt Murton 2B Eric Patterson RF Josh Kroeger C Geovany Soto hmmmmm...I like......
  21. This team needs a Bryan Cox See the wizard, get some heart!
  22. IMO, the low point of the game was when this guy stole a base on Barrett http://www.spacs.k12.wi.us/mallorca/images/day4/oldman.jpg
  23. Tip your cap. We'll a go a get um tomorrow!
