  1. I wonder if they will sell out their home playoff games?
  2. While I would not want Frank Robinson to have anything to do with the Cubs organization, this would not have anything to do with why. There's no crying! There's no crying in baseball! http://i.rollingstone.com/assets/rs/95/72865/images/00099308.jpg So by that rationale, you wouldn't want Jim Leyland either? Or Joe Torre? Nope. Scratch Dick Vermeil off this list too.
  3. Can't say that I was happy the Sox didn't make it. Rooting against another Chicago team to fail, well thats a south side thing. I remember though back when the season started Sox's fans seemed more concerned about the Cubs struggles than their own team's season.
  4. I though he was the creator of South Park?
  5. What about next week? ;) The theme of next week will be "something that should have been done along time ago"
  6. He's done. Good move not resigning him Jim. Frame that quote, you might not see it for a long time.
  7. a Chicago Bear wins offensive player of the month. I think I am still in shock, it hasn't sunk in yet.
  8. While I would not want Frank Robinson to have anything to do with the Cubs organization, this would not have anything to do with why. There's no crying! There's no crying in baseball! http://i.rollingstone.com/assets/rs/95/72865/images/00099308.jpg
  9. Yet Dusty continued to platoon him with Bynum. Pathetic.
  10. Good for Ryno. The more this organization gets called out the better!
  11. No thanks. When he cried like a little baby this summer because he felt bad about pulling that catcher in the middle of an inning, that really soured me towards this guy.
  12. No doubt. Here is the full interview with Benson. http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/index.asp?mm_file_id=373 Talks about how excited he is with the success of the team. Is a huge Grossman fan, and happy for his success. Those two D-Bags Couch and Haugh should issue an apology in the paper, but they won't.
  13. Even if we found a taker for Dumpster, he would have to waive his no-trade clause if I am not mistaken. Brilliant move Jim. Brilliant.
  14. Any thoughts one what the atmosphere at the convention will be like this February? Will MacPhail and Hendry even show up?
  15. http://www.chicagobears.com/ Article on Bears.com pretty much clears up the Benson situation. Has anyone noticed what a trash bag Greg Couch has become? I'm gonna have to rank him above Mariotti for #1 Sun Times Sports Jerk.
  16. Does that mean Williams is out for the year? Yes.
  17. The only non-quality factor regarding his last 2 starts is that he didn't not pitch long. I'm guessing he is on a short leash. I would love to see him come back in 07, but please, can we also aquire other backup options in case.
  18. From the Sun-Times today ugg..I crinched when I read that. Yes, Williams showed some promise this year. Yes, the WOLB position in a cover-2 D, is a position were players generally have success. But I certainly hope that heavin forbid Briggs leaves, a better replacement option is aquired. While I think Manning and Hester were great picks, it still might have been better if the Bears stayed in the late first round and selected DeMeco Ryans. my 2 cents.
  19. Good point. He may be a terrible pitcher, but hey, he was in the right place at the right time and cashed in, thanks to the most incompetant GM in baseball. We all would have done the same thing. Retire and live the good life.
  20. I open the sun times today to find this heaping steaming pile of crap article by Couch http://www.suntimes.com/sports/couch/73255,CST-SPT-greg27.article The article also failed to mention Benson was one of the first to high five and congratulate Rex after his TD pass. If I was playing behind a garbage running back like Thomas Jones and not getting any PT, I would be ticked on the sidelines as well. And I thought his comments in the locker room after the game were very responsible.
  21. With the way he was pitching, it was likley over anyways.
  22. Without alot of cash disposal they are forced to think outside the box to become competitive. They usually hire young GM's who are willing to buy into some pieces of "sabermetrics" and other non-traditional baseball philsophies.
  23. I don't see the point of rookie hazing considering a majority of rookies have been playing better than the veterans. Besides a team with a 95 million dollar payroll shoulnd't be laughing, they should be hanging their heads in disgrace, because that is what they are a disgrace to the city of chicago. BTW, I'm curious...did they make Rich Hill wear Gledon Rush's bra?
  24. I want Benson to get 15 carries minimum.
  25. I think Adrian Gonzales pretty much killed the "Petco Park is murder on Lefties" excuse this year.
