  1. Thanks Fred. I know you don't hear it enough, so I'll say it again, your play-by-play and stats are appreciated and really add to the game (sometimes the only enjoyment one can get).
  2. I just got here and no Fred play-by-play. Can you give me a summary up to the Aram HR which I saw. Thanks.
  3. Memo to Dusty: What you just saw is a sacrifice bunt. Fundamentally sound teams use it as an offensive tactic to score runs. If you score more runs than your opponent, you win the game. The object in baseball is to win the game. Never mind Dusty, let's start over. This round thing is a baseball......
  4. Nats have 5 walks and no cub batter has seen 4 pitches. CUBS have seen 3.88 P/PA thorugh the 5th. Now, you wouldn't be exageratin' there, would ya ?? Well Mr. King of Stats, you got me there, so I'm trading you in for a few King of Beers!
  5. Nats have 5 walks and no cub batter has seen 4 pitches.
  6. Really the only question for the remainder of the season is whether or not Dusty/Larry can blow out Z's arm. I wouldn't be surprised to see them go to a one man rotation and have Z try to throw another 500 innings this year (modified by Maddux throwing every 5th game) Prior going on the DL due to his pregnancy later this week.
  7. Agreed. We should allow the opposing teams to clog the bases. It can only help us by increasing the possibility of them becoming confused on the basepaths. Baseclogging underway. That ball in the bleachers sure unclogged them. Dusty is so dang stupid he probably thinks the walk didn't score on the HR. Dusty needs to go manage the Nats, 4 walks in 3+ innings---no fundamentals being taught in DC.
  8. Why did Larry go out to talk to Marmol after two walks? If walks are a bad thing for cub hitters, shouldn't walks be good for cub pitchers?
  9. Tiger wins another major. An American kicks the Frogs in the Tour de France, again (8 in a row). Cubs losing. All is as it should be in the world of sports.
  10. Wait, wait, wait....I'll post. Darn 0-7 ?!? I just got off of work so I'm leaving but somebody please post within the next 20 min. Worthless stats of the day: 29 number of minutes elapsed between non-Fred posts 16 number of consecutive Fred posts w/c who cares, cubs lose again Fred, whats the record for consecutive posts and time elapsed between non-Fred posts? Don't get discouraged, leave that to the rest of us!
  11. Not who Fred, but what.....it is a dish of warmed over (expletive deleted) your wife serves when she's PO'd at you.
  12. Soriano is going for most times thrown out at home in a game.
  13. OK superstar Fred, you're the show now that Fox has decided that most of us get to watch real baseball teams and can't follow the cubs today. Thanks for your usual outstanding job! :D
  14. Microphone picking up an obvious Cub fan yelling "Walker, you suck!!!"
  15. Well you take a little 3 year old girl's arm, stick it on Cedeno, blah, blah, blah....
  16. Where's Walker when you need him? That was called a hit????
  17. Well, to stay marginally on topic, Barry Roid will be around to face the Cubs when the Giants next come to town as he was not indicted today. Apparently the prosecution needs the testimony of his personal trainer who was in jail for refusing to testify. The trainer had to be released as the grand jury term expired, but I'm sure he'll be recalled before the "new" grand jury and sent back to jail if he refuses again to testify. At some point the trainer will relent and the Roid will be indicted and hopefully suspended, thus ending his career.
  18. Nolan Ryan once threw 235 pitches in a game. This 120 pitch game is child's play.  They don't make 'em like they used to!
  19. Maybe with Z losing his shutout he can come out of the game.
  20. Braves score in top of first in their quest to score 10 or more runs for the 6th consecutive game ( current 5 game streak the longest since 1930).
  21. Don't know about that, but it had better be the last time the old fart "sings" "Take Me Out to the Ballgame."
  22. Damn I hate it when Maddux doesn't win. Oh well, Fred, the other three of us appreciate the stats.
  23. Tigers' Monroe slams the Pale Hose. Tigers lead 5-2 after 6.
  24. It took a while for the steroids to clear out. Why do you think Roger Roid laid out the first couple of months?
