  1. Just Damn!! A few weeks ago when Maddux was pitching in Arizona Grace outlined precisely Maddux's weakness, that he gets distracted when pitching with runners on, that they run on him and he starts making poor pitches to the plate. That is how the Diamondbacks won that night and the Cardinals are doing the same thing now.
  2. Portraits are ridiculous Interesting that a lot of the locals don't really like the new park. The main complaints are that the ticket prices have skyrocketed; foul poles too wide blocking views, not enough bathrooms, too many seats in the sun and an open stadium that dissipates the sound. Yeah when I was there I ask some Cards fans what they thought and they weren't as pleased with it as I thought they would be. Well, I mean, old Busch was such a beauty... A lot of Cardinals fans were actually proud of the fact they had the last concrete circle cookie cutter ballpark, go figure.

  4. Oswalt misses his start for the Astros today due to back spasms.
  5. On a 1-2 inside pitch, Balco Barry sticks his armour plated right elbow out and is HBP and laughing his ass off as he goes to 1B. That stuff should be outlawed. What the hell are the Cubs thinking on that rundown play? More Dusty baseball.
  6. Is three straight walks a new Cub record? Grand slam again?
  7. September 5-7, 2005, which was the last time the Cardinals were swept in a three game series at home. The Cubs won this series, but lost game 1, 6-4. Damn, I guess that's what I get for relying on "The Chicago Cubs Media Relations Office" which I was quoting from today's press notes.
  8. I hope for an injury to Barry Bonds every day and have been for years. Although this year I don't really need a serious injury because any little injury could end his career. Balco Barry is 0-2 today and is being warmly greeted by Metropolitan fans today, with syringes and Junk Bonds signs

  10. It's just never easy. Williamson looks hurt? What happened?
  11. La Russa can cure cancer. Jeannie Zalasko knows baseball.
  12. New stadium = sellout. Virtually impossible for an out-of-towner this weekend unless you want to go to the scalper's station set up across the street.
  13. Cubs press conference to be held at the end of the half-inning to announce Dusty's contract extension.
  14. He must have went out with Ponson last night. Rafi Furcal snuck into town and was the designated driver while Sutcliffe rounded out the foursome.
  15. You never make the first out at third.....NEVER You forgot we're playing Dustyball.
  16. Hey Fred, would you start keeping stats for how many pitches Cub batters take? Should involve minimal data entry.
  17. ....and in other news, PUJOLS,PUJOLS,PUJOLS....the mute button just went into operation.
  18. CUBS are 2-9 when the temperature is 75 or above. Go CUBS !! Fred, a main reason I signed up was to let you know how much I enjoy and appreciate your stats.
