  1. you guys realize in order to equal our production out of center field from this year, we need to add a guy like Beltran....
  2. He'll be a legitimate 800 OPS guy for the next two years or so. He can do his .280/.350/.450 line with 15 or so home runs. Solid defense.
  3. Can't we all just get along?
  4. Okay, color me confused then. Why does the league have one as a whole then? because those five percent are included? i shouldn't have been so blunt. i mean quality major league hitters. the reason is that the ones who can't hit righties are weeded out in the minors because they face them most of the time in the minors. the lefties who cant hit lefties can still make it through the minors, which is why more lefties in the majors experience higher platoon splits. its like half the split for righties as lefties, but that gap narrows as the players get better
  5. Keep in mind my mock picks the last two years 2007 1.3 Jason Heyward, OF - Henry County HS 1S.48 Michael Burgess, OF - Hillsburough HS 3.97 Will Middlebrooks, 3B - Liberty-Elyau HS 4.127 Chris Carpenter, RHP - Kent State 5.157 Taylor Martin, RHP - St. Michael HS 2008 1.19 Shooter Hunt, RHP - Tulane 1S.41 Ross Seaton, RHP - Second Baptist HS 2.65 Aaron Shafer, RHP - Wichita State 3.97 Brandon Crawford, SS - UCLA 4.131 Isaac Galloway, OF - Los Osos HS 5.161 Paul Demny, RHP - Blinn JC And if I did it in 2006, it would have been Travis Snider. *sigh*
  6. 7. im certain hes an 800 ops guy who can reach 850 in a good year.
  8. Im pretty sure that time spent on the DL in Japan doesnt go to service time in Japan. Or only half of the time does. That was an issue with Koji Uehara wanting to come here. He wasn't eligible last season because of time missed on the DL. I don't think he will be an FA until after 2012.
  9. If you look at anyones draft, throw out rounds 1s-4 it's not going to look good unless they got a stud with the first pick.
  10. 95% of righties have no platoon spits against right-handed/left-handed as the number of PAs becomes large. There is very little sabermetric evidence to suggest otherwise.
  11. If you think I am kidding, I am not.
  12. dont use the .292 and .296 eqas to compare roberts and derosa. theyre skewing the data in derosas favor. a better comparison is derosas adjusted .296 to roberts .303. Roberts had like 110 more PAs, but thats irrelevant here. on a per out basis roberts outperformed derosa, but by what amounts to 3 or 4 runs over the course of the season. The point isnt that derosa is better than roberts, he isnt, but the upgrade from derosa to roberts is very small and that the resources we used to trade for roberts would be better served utilized elsewhere. and if you say oh well throw derosa in right, well the upgrade from fontenot to roberts isn't any greater.
  13. If you listen to the people around here it would sound as if Major Applewhite led UT to the NC, not Vincent Young.
  14. didnt we learn something from "mark prior to be back by early may" like twenty years in a row or something?
  15. Funny, bostons "knowing" how to win is being the best team in baseball year after year.
  16. Wow, I think that K/9 is the end all be all stat for pitchers. Sweet.
  17. I have tickets to the Missouri game, not the OU game. I'm thinking about heading up to Dallas anyways this weekend. However, I have a group theory midterm on Monday. And I hate group theory.
  18. some guy who gets more groundballs than brandon webb
  19. the big twelve is the new pac 10. oh lord the scoring. that mizzou UT game could be 56-49. imagine if Mizzou and TTU played. 66-62 anyone?
