  1. i cant see how moving anyone out of the rotation could be justified. lilly, marquis and hill have been great all season long. angel guzman has done very well in his three starts. he hasnt gone very long, but hes never thrown more than 82 pitches in a start. umm i guess lou could go all charlie manuel on us and make z our closer putting marmol, marshall or even dempster in the rotation, but uhh.....i sure hope not
  2. why would angel get dumped from the rotation? he's done perfectly fine thus far. i dunno about marmol closing.
  3. i hate ryan dempster. luckily lincecum and sheets were lights out
  4. its worth noting that in the mayo draft despite wieters not going in the top ten, there are two boras guys in it.
  5. http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/leaderboard?st=head&ms=0 the Benchwarmers sitting at 50-8-2. http://profiles.sports.yahoo.com/thelegendofz I'll fall back after this week. I've faced an easy schedule thus far, even though my team is outstanding. I still cant trade away Kinsler for a bag of balls. Im playing the second place team and he's very good. His team is hot as heck and already has 65 homers this year in 6 weeks, (thats a pace of 282 HRs). Mine has undershot their homers at 50 this year (DERREK LEE AND MANNY GET ON TRACK). Based on the powers of the team I should be better than him here. Oh well. He's also done well in RBI. I have him beat in R, SB and BA. Pitching we're both pretty good. He's riding hot starts from a lot of guys. Im doing my classic three bonafied studs + pickups. Through three games this week it's a good match for me. im having an outstanding week and so is he. Team R HR RBI SB AVG W SV K ERA WHIP Score Benchwarmers 18 4 18 8 .311 3 1 36 2.91 1.03 6 DeepFlyball 12 5 13 2 .299 3 1 30 2.41 1.12 2 He's killing me with the HR already. He had 2 from Uggla and Carlos Lee yesterday and one from that dirty piece of crap AJP. I have one from Grady, Granderson, Hanley and Aramis. My steals are off the charts this week. Grady has 2, Hanley 3, 1 from Teahen, Martin and Upton. Gah he's ticking me off. I have Ben Sheets and Tim Lincecum going tomorrow. I'm hoping for some good games from both. He's got Curt Schilling going tomorrow. Get lit up! I WILL KEEP YOU GUYS POSTED BECAUSE I KNOW YOU (don't) CARE! and IMB please accept.
  6. at br? no lame pie jokes please.
  7. Id take Parker over Vitters myself. Although Im not so sure I'd take Parker in the top five picks.
  8. He probably will. The 23rd ranked HS guy, would be about 45th overall. Our second pick is what, 48th? There's a chance. anyways heres a guy that intrigues me later in the draft (4th round or so?) He cant throw strikes, throws real hard and has good stuff. He's a picture perfect Cub. http://www.pgcrosschecker.com/crackthebat/patrick%5Febert/07%5F05%5F9%5Falabama%5Fpreps/ Im serious though, taking a flyer on a guy like that with the fourth pick if he's there is a good move IMO. I hate drafting crappy college guys with no future in the top ten rounds. Just take a toolsy HS kid and maybe you'll get lucky. (In other words I dont like picks like Josh Lansford or Steven Clevenger over a guy like Adam Coe or Dellin Betances). Granted it's more expensive but it's not something that should affect the Cubs. /rant
  9. That's in 120 games. You take his career numbers and average them out to a fullseason he's in the 7.25 range and to expect .25 improvement from a 25 year old isnt such a bad idea.
  10. for one hes 25 so he hasnt peaked but hes shown 25 homer power and his a present 7.5+ WARP player.
  11. I countered, and it is probably exactly what you were expecting. \\ and ive got absolutely no problem accepting that deal. I give: Fransisco Rodriguez, Ted Lilly and Octavio Dotel I get: Justin Morneau and Salomon Torres KRod and Torres have gone save for save this year. And KRod may get like 5 more over the course of the season than Torres. So basically it comes down to Ks, WHIP and ERA, and I pick up so many damn starters it doesnt make a difference. I sold high on Lilly, no big deal. Kazmir and Sabathia are good enough to keep my ERA and WHIP respectable most weeks with guys I pick up. Dotel? eh who knows. Hes on the way back. Hell probably get five saves then wind up on the MPL.
  12. Probbly. I wanted to go watch him this season but havent had a chance. He's playing at Memorial which is about a 45 minute drive, maybe an hour and a half in Houston traffic. Memorial grads include Koby Clemens and Michael Dell yay
  13. well its dumping JJ for a real CF with plus defense. Rocco is the player that Pie can be. Hes still just 25 (!) and has present 25 HR power.
  14. all of our problems. Send them Veal and say Marshall, package JJ to someone else for another prospect of their liking, just anything they want do it. Then ask for BJ Upton or Rocco Baldelli, both of whom [expletive] Law thinks may be available. Roccos playing poorly so we should buy low on him. Stick Upton or Baldelli in CF for the time being. Once Pie is ready he can take over RF. We'd have the best OF defense in baseball for you defensive lovers. regardless rocco to the cubs would be too smart for jumbo jimbo hendry
  15. Oooh its Vance. Should be a good one although my starters blew up today.
  16. should be a fun rest of the season! ps - hobbling 35 year old corner outfielders with a .710 OPS shouldn't get a lot of playing time. Im going to defend Floyd on this one. The Jeremy Giambi effect is affecting Matty Murton and Cliff Floyd right now. If Floyd was promised one thing during the contract negotiations and that promise didn't come true, he should be mad.
  17. No. Ill be at work and too tired to bitch when I get home thanks to the 100 deg heat in Texas. Ill certainly argue against it like I did the Soriano signing. His "draft score" or whatever may be better, but because impure assumptions.
  18. see if you can get someone other than Hardy. Glaus is eligible at short in Yahoo leagues if thats what it is.
  19. because 3rd baseman with less power and less defensive ability than catchers are better.
  20. i made an offer but it wont be nearly enough. send me back one if you can. Id like to keep 2 closers. I could downgrade from KRod I suppose. Dotels supposed to be on the way back Im Playing the Shoes! Thats IMB no?
  21. and its moves like this that makes me want billy.
