jones is exactly the type of player the A's don't want. doesn't take pitches. terrible defender (though they've had less of a problem with this part in the OF lately). That's not true. There's a certain player that the A's don't want. It's called the overvalued player. Jones skillset may not be the greatest, but for what he does he may be below market value, which is exactly the kind of player they want. I'm sure they'd prefer Murton to Jones, but I'm sure they'd pick up Jones if the Cubs would help pick up the tab.

nah they moved him to 3B in the offseason the last i heard. i dont think he tore ligaments in his elbow. The only catcher i can recall that has done that lately is teagarden. Brad Lincoln did. Walker had a wrist injury a while ago.
