  1. Nice camera work and an even better throw! Good hustle, Ronny.
  2. Haha. I think Hendry was just turning the volume down.
  3. I don't know if you're joking, or if he really said that. It's hard to tell, isn't it? That's from Cubs.com.
  4. Kan't Play Did Kant write any screenplays?
  5. Lee got a real good pitch to drill but took it. :(
  6. According to Jon Miller, the sun sets in the west side of Chicago.
  7. Pretty good command with his fastball, at least. He just missed badly on the 3-2 pitch.
  8. That was just what I was hoping wasn't going to happen with the crowd standing.
  9. Two nice pitches with good location, 1 out.
  10. Blowing out to left/right-to-left at 10 mph. Gametime windchill of about 40 degrees.
  11. Umm, Pierre certainly isn't one of the best base stealer or defensive center fielder in the game, Morgan. That was quick.
  12. I'm only using Conine and Cruz because their contracts are significantly better than Jones' while their 2004 and 2005 seasons were very similar (with Jones have probably the worst seasons out of the three). There were other options, of course, and like UK said, a platoon could've meant a stronger bench.
  13. He was on the on-deck circle yesterday in the 8th before replacing Ronny in the field in the 9th. Not that there are really any significantly better options on the bench, of course.
  14. The number of years is a huge issue, more so than the money. Conine and Cruz will likely put up pretty similar offensive numbers under far, far better contracts. I don't know if there's ever a reason to give a mediocre player, whose production could be easily replaced, a three-year deal. I would have much rather have gotten Conine, who didn't sign until January. Hendry signed Jones in late December. EDIT: It was reported that Conine agreed to terms with the Orioles on December 21st, the day after the Jones deal became official. Either way, Conine was still available to the Cubs.
  15. I've never seen someone skid on the grass with one foot for four feet before.
  16. Aardsma pitches a scoreless 9th and the I-Cubs win 7-1. Pie went 3-4 with 2 triples, a sac fly, 4 RBIs, a run scored, and a stolen base.
  17. Pie! Felix greets Jimmy Anderson with a first pitch, 3-run triple into the right field corner. His second triple in as many ABs.
  18. Pie picks up his first triple of the season.
