  1. Due to problems on WCF, we'll continue the game thread here. DARWIN WALKER!
  2. Oh my
  3. The need to debate which conference is better is completely foreign to me. How about individual teams?
  4. It sounds like they're expecting 40,000 for tomorrow's game. I wouldn't say it's that bad considering the Bears game and the number of matches already in Chicago this year.
  5. But less use of banned substances.
  6. Wow, how did it happen? I turned it off after Nevada scored that TD. I thought it was over for sure given Sutton was out. Sutton wasn't much of a factor before the injury because the coaching staff had the bright idea not to try to run the ball whatsoever on a team that gave up roughly two thousand yards on the ground last week. Bacher marched it down, thanks to two big runs, after they got the ball back with a little over a minute left. They finished the game with a safety.
  7. Geeeeeeeeez what a game. Plenty to not like, but the Cardiac 'Cats are back and escaped with a last second win.
  8. I can't recall if it was mentioned when they signed the big deal with TBS, but is it safe to assume that the TBS games will also be broadcast in the local markets over the air?
  9. I bought and sold a total of 8 tickets to the match. Considering what I sold them for, I'm not too upset about not going. I'll have to just follow on match tracker and then download it afterwards.
  10. Jeter's WARP numbers have been impressive though, yeah? I remember FJM citing them as 2nd or 3rd best in the AL the year Hafner should have won the MVP But the way he's perceived, he's one of the greatest of all time. The overrated gap between his actual production and hype has to be near the biggest in the last 25 years. Pierre would probably belong, but I'm not sure about Hunter. Soriano perhaps, but there may be more deserving players.
  11. Ugh. It doesn't take much for a young player to get on the organization's bad side as it is.
  12. Probable Starters: Iowa: LHP Les Walrond (11-5, 4.77 ERA, 137.2 IP, 93 K/48 BB, .308 BAA) Tennessee: RHP Jeff Samardzija (Tenn & Daytona: 6-10, 4.45 ERA, 137.2 IP, 63 K/43 BB, .303 BAA) Peoria: RHP Robert Hernandez (7-9, 4.50 ERA, 98 IP, 65 K/28 BB, .272 BAA) Boise: LHP Zack Ashwood (4-3, 3.25 ERA, 52.2 IP, 41 K/21 BB, .269 BAA)
  13. I was one of those people. That was total insanity and I enjoyed every minute of it. I thought it might be time to mention it in this thread also. So Penn St fans are excited because App St did something Penn St hasnt done in what 10 yrs? Michigan is in your conference. It is only going to make you guys look crappy if Michigan loses in non-conference games. Yet you guys get more excited about this then if you actually beat Michigan yourselves. Of course most Penn St fans younger than 25 probably dont remember the last time Penn St beat Michigan. How does it make Penn State look bad? They haven't lost to Michigan this season. If they lose, then it will hurt them in the voting a bit depending on what Michigan does the rest of the way. If they win, the impact will be quite minimal. And the impact on recruiting probably overshadows that easily. Most Big Ten fans hate rival conference schools and want to see them suffer. I wouldn't have it any other way.
  14. Probable Starters: Iowa: RHP Randy Wells (5-6, 4.76 ERA, 90.2 IP, 94 K/40 BB, .277 BAA) Tennessee: TBD Daytona: RHP Adalberto Mendez (Daytona & Tenn: 3-5, 4.92 ERA, 86 IP, 65 K/47 BB, .246 BAA) Daytona: LHP Paul Schappert (Daytona, Tenn & Iowa: 6-7, 6.43 ERA, 112 IP, 46 K/40 BB, .309 BAA) Peoria: RHP Michael Bartek (Mesa & Peoria): 0-1, 6.55 ERA, 44 IP, 30 K/27 BB, .288 BAA Boise: LHP Dustin Sasser (3-4, 4.67 ERA, 61.2 IP, 50 K/24 BB, .269 BAA)
  15. And Bowling Green sends the game into OT.
  16. Minnesota has taken a 24-21 lead.
  17. I also wouldn't be surprised at all if Michigan won out.
  18. Purdue looks poised to do a lot of damage offensively this season.
  19. Minnesota is losing at home to Bowling Green by a halftime score of 21-0.
  20. I have no idea. They didn't have any timeouts left, but they really should have taken a knee, at which point Michigan would have called a timeout, and then run some more time off the clock by dropping back and throwing it out of the endzone. But hey, it made it that much more dramatic.
  21. What happened? I forgot that this was just on the BTN. Appalachian State blocked the last second FG attempt (roughly 37-40 yards out) and the same guy picked it up and ran it back all the way to the 6 yard line as the clock expired.
  22. OH MY GOODNESS WHAT A FINISH!!!
  23. Oh you've got to be kidding me... Appalachian State could have run another 15 seconds or so off easily before kicking that FG. Very little risk.
  24. IT'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!! But they kicked it with 30 seconds left. I have no idea why.
  25. Wow. 1st and 10 at the 30 now. AND NOW FIRST AND GOAL!!!
