  1. There's nothing against the rules with having a hand on the guy's back. He didn't push him and most importantly, he didn't turn him. The receiver didn't move at all because of the defender.
  2. There were two officials who threw flags, too.
  3. How can there be a big pissing match about officiating and Hawai'i hasn't been mentioned once?
  4. Notre Dame's defense hasn't stopped Navy all day long. They had to go for it otherwise Navy would run the clock out. I was surprised Weis actually did it, but I think it was the right move even when it was called. Wasn't that Notre Dame's first completion all half? I'd say the odds were better that they'd cost themselves the game with over 5 minutes to go thanks to the great field position they'd give up than to do what they did.
  5. If you want bad officiating, try playing Duke in football sometime. Someone explain to me why Notre Dame would go for it on 4th and 14 with 7 minutes left at their own 30. It's amazing it worked.
  6. What an embarrassment. Suddenly we have the worst offense in the conference with back-to-back choke jobs and now we have to win out just to get to 7 wins, get passed over for a 6-6 Iowa team, and accept a non-Big Ten bowl bid. Pathetic job by the offense.
  7. I am pumped for tomorrow's game. A win is pretty critical as a loss will mean that they'll have to win out to get to a bowl. Hopefully Iowa's Evanston nightmares continue. The weather will be crisp and sunny.
  8. Just watched the West Ham United and Portsmouth match on FSC. What a crazy ending.
  9. Phew.
  10. You've got to be kidding me.
  11. Hot damn. I just got back. Too bad I won't really be able to watch the second half, but this thing is locked up. It was nice seeing Barrett finish (on the replay).
  12. If he was, he isn't now. Wow.
  13. So neither Deng nor Gordon are getting extensions right now?
  14. I think I'd wet myself if they managed to get Kobe without giving up either Hinrich or Deng.
  15. Come on, people. 25 minutes since the last post. I need an update at least every 15 minutes.
  16. BCB posted this yesterday http://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/story/2007/10/30/143451/76 The one large piece of equipment on the right is pulling a Furcal. That just looks bizarre.
  17. http://youtube.com/watch?v=kEGeTcmKTVY Adu timed it well, but what a great move to set it up.
  18. Just go straight to the clubhouse and bathrooms. I once took a tour of Wrigley and I couldn't believe how small the Clubhouse was. It was laughable. It's certainly small, especially the locker area, but there's more to it that you can't see.
  19. Bah:
  20. Not Kobe related, but with the lack of posts at SCB right now, it's worth noting that due to a rumored format change of WCKG switching to a Spanish station, the Bulls have signed a 5-year radio deal with ESPN 1000.
  21. Nice. Is it up on youtube yet?
  22. Hopefully Sutton can repeat last year's performance against Iowa. Northwestern needs this win to get to 6-4 and set themselves up where they can win a 7th game against either Indiana or at Illinois. The three games the rest of the season are winnable, but they won't be easy. And there's an outside chance seven wins may not even be enough for a Big Ten tie-in bowl and a much, much greater chance that six won't get them anywhere.
  23. the fire played well from what i saw. didn't they open 1-0 last playoffs too? only to go down to new england on pk's. It was a pretty disappointing series against the Revolution. That won't happen if they can start to finish.
  24. I like how most of the home team's defense gave up about 5 seconds into that play.
  25. It's just grass and cement blocks. Who cares. I think a lot of people would have wanted some Wrigley grass. Additionally, the goal post anchors: who knows if someone wanted them or not? Perhaps it would have been possible to reuse them. You can always throw it away, but if you throw it away, you can't put it to good use. They should have at least seen if someone had any interest or ideas of what to do with them. I don't understand why someone would want 90-year-old concrete. You don't think someone out there would pay decent money for the goal post anchors with 50 years of Bears history?
