  1. Indiana gave Lynch a new four-year contract. That's a little surprising considering just about everything I heard about that situation was that Indiana would conduct a big search at the end of the season and that the odds of Lynch returning were pretty small.
  2. As much as the polls try to determine the best teams, in the end, it's like all sports. It's not about the best team. It's about the team that wins.
  3. The stats of the UCLA/Oregon game are amazing. With 6 minutes and change to go in the 4th: Passing UCLA - 4/17, 64 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT Oregon - 7/29, 65 yards, 0 TD, 3 INT Rushing UCLA - 41 carries, 106 yards, 0 TD Oregon - 38 carries, 48 yards, 0 TD Punting UCLA - 9 punts, 423 yards, 1 TB, 57 yard long Oregon - 12 punts, 502 yards, 0 TB, 57 yard long
  4. If he had been able to just take off with nobody in his way, I think he might have been able to float it over the defenders' heads to the guy a few yards in front of him in the end zone. Unfortunately for them, a lineman got in Woodson's way.
  5. Now that's a new wrinkle to deciding on whether to start on offense or defense. Start with the ball on first and goal at the 10 or start on defense and make them start on the 40. Yeah, that should not have been a penalty. Hahahah. And after all that, it's a 40 yard TD pass on the first play.
  6. Wow. That play had no shot from the get go. Wait. The personal foul gets enforced in the next OT period because it happened after the play, but the personal foul facemask before didn't because it was during the play?
  7. Yeah, and that's what I fully expect to happen here.
  8. Damnit. That could've been the best two-point conversion ever.
  9. Well, that was a great facemask, because they had a great shot to take it back once they got to the right side of the field.
  10. What the hell? Can the OT period end on a penalty?
  11. No way that should have stood. The replay clearly showed the ball on the ground.
  12. Woodson couldn't stop overthrowing on that drive. It nearly cost him a first down and now it might've cost them the game. The receiver was wide open, but the throw made him leave his feet.
  13. I like the tactic of letting the clock run from :15 to :10 before calling the timeout.
  14. Wonderful use of timeouts by Miles this half.
  15. Hahahaha. This is getting hilarious. The whistle clearly blew, but it was really short. Just blow the whistle.
  16. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

    The NBA thread

The Bulls are on pace to give up 144 to Denver.
  18. Northwestern wins 95-63. Their 95 points were 10 more than the previous Carmody-era high. They had a shot at 100 points for the first time since what I can only assume to be the beginning of time, but they ran down the clock in the last couple of minutes.
  19. Northwestern's new look Princeton offense is out in full force tonight as the Wildcats lead Benedictine 52-30...at the half. Michael Thompson is having an immediate impact running this offense and Craig Moore one year absence may be over. I can't wait for Coble to come back. Hopefully his mom is doing well enough for him to return by the start of the Big Ten season. Perhaps the days of playing down to the opponent's level are over...
  20. They mentioned during the game yesterday that he started with two of his fingers on his left hand taped together, but removed the tape shortly after the game got underway. I believe they said it was a bone chip at the base of the finger.
  21. I take McDonough's lack of optimism regarding a potential new owner's desire to keep things the same, especially for the first couple of years, a good sign. Of course, I'm not sure I'd agree with that. It was still probably a good career move, though I'm sure it was hard for him to leave.
  22. So this puts Blanco's eventual extension at $1.5 million a year?
  23. Turns out I do get ESPNU, hooray Vitale is doing these games, ugh At least it sounds like he's well on his way to losing his voice.
  24. Jozy time in the 65th minute.
  25. Adu blew a great chance at the end of the half, but that was a nice opportunity that unfolded there.
