  1. I can't remember if it was about the Cardinals or not, but yeah, he said basically the same thing. He was joking then and he's probably joking now. Or, at the very least, overstating thing just a tad.
  2. Nobody remembers the infamous lack of bed board in Kerry's hotel room a few years ago?
  3. Those sound like season tickets. Tickets purchased through cubs.com/tickets.com and shipped via mail are printed on a tickets.com stock. Tickets purchased through cubs.com/tickets.com with will call or from the Cubs box office are mostly blue with a faint image of the marquee on the background. Season tickets, on the other hand, are smaller and will feature a different image. I haven't seen this year's version, though, but there are season ticket holders here that might be able to give you a definitive answer. Or, better you, you may want to skim through eBay and see if you can find an auction with a picture of tickets being sold by someone with season tickets. As for your other question, if you're in the section and looking at the field, the single digit seats will be on the right of the aisle while the triple digit seats will be on the left.
  4. I'm unsure if I'm going to pick UConn or Drake in the Sweet 16; however, if it's UConn they present significant match-up problems for UCLA. I still UCLA would win -- I'm taking them to win the title -- but UConn's size could be a headache for Love, et al. Not to look past Miss Valley State and TAMU/BYU but both Drake (zone) and UConn (size) would of course pose difficulties. Hopefully UCLA's recent solid performances against good zone teams (ASU and USC at times) and big teams (Stanford) will help them out. They do seem to be better against the zone now. My favorite sequence from the Pac-10 title game was the first possession UCLA had in the second half after Stanford switched to the zone. Collison basically held the ball 5-10 feet behind the three-point line for a good 30 second before they settled on a horrible shot. On their next time down the court, Collison just took it right down the lane and nearly hit a ridiculous reverse layup before it was cleaned up for an easy 2. After that, they didn't have much trouble.
  5. I'm in as Evanston Express. My goal is to finish 3rd to last or above. And I do believe this is my first non-Onion league post in the Fantasy forum.
  6. The U-23 match vs. Canada will take place Thursday night at 8 PM CT on FSC. The championship game will be played at 4 PM on Sunday with the third place game preceding it at 1 PM. Is it the two teams that make the championship game that advance to the Olympics?
  7. Yeah, he's not as young as a I thought. He'll be 25 in November. I wanted to see him do better just because he's so damn big. Oh well.
  8. Kerry may very well get interest from teams regarding a starter's role, but I'd almost be surprised if he attempted a comeback to the rotation. He's well aware of just how close he came to having to call it quits and I'd have to believe he'd chose more years out of the bullpen than running a high risk of only getting another year or two out of that arm as a starter.
  9. One can hope, but he's been down this road before at the beginning of the season. Spring Training 2005 - 1.35 ERA, 18 K, 5 BB, 1.15 WHIP April 2005 - 4.34 ERA, 27 K, 12 BB Spring Training 2006 - 3.79 ERA, 20 K, 4 BB, 1.00 WHIP April 2006 - 5.35 ERA, 38 K, 25 BB Spring Training 2007 - 2.61 ERA, 21 K, 6 BB, 1.21 WHIP April 2007 - 5.77 ERA, 25 K, 19 BB
  10. Someone tell Lou that you can't tell squat by tinkering with a lineup for a few days in Spring Training.
  11. I think they mentioned at least twice that she wasn't actually naked.
  12. Wow. With less than a minute remaining in stoppage time, Davies draws a foul in the box. Gaven drills the PK to give the US a 1-0 victory and their group.
  13. Far more interesting than the game would be the woman running onto the pitch wearing a black bikini and American flag as a cape. Apparently FSC wanted the ratings and showed as much as they could, too. Replays included. Usually stations don't do that. I'm not sure why I'm watching the second half. There is so little talent out there.
  14. What the hell? Davies is given a PK in the 63rd minute, just a few minutes after getting into the game. He then proceeds to chip it wide right by about 3 feet. Scoreless tie so far against Honduras...
  15. Is UCLA even shooting 25% from the line? Stanford is going to have one last shot.
  16. If Collison hit that reverse layup, I think we'd have seen some real Gus excitement.
  17. i'm enjoying it. gus should be the #1 announcer in every sport. I'm looking forward to some crazy stuff going down at the end.
  18. Yeah, they're second row. Some random ticket tidbits:
  19. So the direct link should be http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/MLBEventInfo?trxstate=8&orgid=21811&agency=MLBTGSCUBS Edit: Oh, it does show the address bar in the popup window. Nevermind.
  20. Yeah, you're right. Not sure how I missed that.
  21. I would assume they'll use a VWR, but I don't believe the press release actually said that they would.
  22. Have there been any rumors linking Jones to the Bears yet?
  23. I think I'm going to give it a go. Are these seats available for every game or are they for selected games? Should be every game. This is the first year they're not doing a lottery, though.
  24. Not I. If value dates were still $50 for dugout seats, then yes. Although to be honest, I was a little disappointed when I went a few years ago. I sat in row B or C behind home plate and because of the crown and being blocked by the ump, the view wasn't that great. Plus, the only player to get really close during pre-game warmups was Neifi. I'm sure the seats will be better now that the crown is gone, though.
  25. Who scored? What happened? I didn't get to watch. Adu off a PK. That was about it. Panama had some chances, though I only saw the second half. Adu took a punch to the stomach out of the blue, but he ended up being fine. They were a wee bit chippy.
