    Just let them have him. No need to get anything back for a mediocre pitcher. Just free up a spot for somebody like Stevens. They got until Monday. There's no reason to let them just have him right now. Thats 2 more games Heilman can pitch in. Thats reason enough. Oh, thought RedFlash meant Harden. I agree Heilman needs to go now.

Kevin Greggs solo: Blow Every Ballgame Better as a duet with Aaron Heilman. Edelweiss is going to be difficult. Can't we just keep So Long, Farewell as the original title? I already submitted Aa-ron Miles for Edelweiss.

    Because we needed to get more left handed; where the hell have u been the past 10 months? :wink: :wink: So the baseball holocaust known as Aaron Miles is on this team because of this? I'd rather the team become more no-handed if it meant no Aaron Miles.

    I was at te game and now I'm on the el coming back. Jokes on me cause I can't believe I wasted a perfectly good night and $36 watching this crap. Low point of the game isn't the grand slam or Willingham's two home runs; it was watching Aaron Miles "bat". I could have been doing something way more productive like watching porn.

    Kenny Williams does have a knack for trading away his prospects for good talent in return. Let's see .. Chris Young for Vasquez and then flipping Vasquez two years later for Tyler Flowers, Chris Carter for Quentin, Poreda/Richard for Peavy, Roward for a very cheap Thome. Sure Hendry did the ARam and Lee deals, but that was over 5 years ago. The only thing that you can say Hendry has done recently was the Harden deal. Oh, and the Sox also has a much better Cuban connection than the Cubs.

    He's a football guy. I wonder if this qualifies for FJM. Kissing Suzy Kolber rips him to shreds every week. It's not as good as FJM, but it has its moments. Also, I love this video of Peter King at the Red Sox game. I think those shorts can be used as a 6 person tent. First of all, how in the world did you find that video? Second of all, Red Sox fan + Derek Jeter man love = DOES NOT COMPUTE!

    You have to offer arbitration to free agents if you want compensation picks if they sign elsewhere. What is the rationale for this? If you don't offer arbitration and free agents sign elsewhere, why don't you get compensation picks in that case?

    So Wagner wants his option declined in order for him to waive his NTC. Uh ... wouldn't any team decline his option anyways? Nobody wants to pay $8mil (ok more like $7mil cause of the $1mil buyout) for a 38 year old pitcher just coming off Tommy John.

    Normally I would agree with this, but the Padres did just take 2 of 3 from the Cubs.

    Why? As a GM he traded Scott Kazmir for Victor Zambrano. No he didnt. To be more specific, Phillips was fired as Mets' GM about a year before the trade. Phillips was fired in June 2003; the trade was in June 2004. That was a pretty bad trade though. I recall one time on an ESPN broadcast of a Cubs/Mets game, they were talking about Victor Zambrano, and then they showed a shot of Carlos Zambrano. However, the Jason Bay trade that Philliips made is pretty bad.

    This is one of the most mediocre baseball "accomplishments" that I can think of. Literally any major league middle infielder could have made that play if put into the same situation.
